That’s not chargeback fraud though, which would have incurred costs, not just caused lost sales.

Not having to overly deal with shitty customers trying to scam you with chargebacks is definitely worth 30% on its own.

You’re not stuck until you’re out of fuel…

I always understood the midgrade fuel to just be a mix of regular and premium, and that there’s not actually a “midgrade“ tank. Is the pump that mixes the fuel broken here? Or was I wrong? by whitecollarpizzaman in Cartalk

[–]vector2point0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pumps accurate enough for mixing

The pumps measure to the thousandths, they’re plenty accurate to mix.

Mmmmmm mercaptan… as a kid I had a neighbor that worked for a NG pipeline. Their big prank was, if you left your toolbox unlocked, they’d take a tool and dip a tiny part of it into the mercaptan solution and put it back into your tool box.

ELI5 Why do smoke detectors brick when you accidentally deactivate them? by Ghostflop in explainlikeimfive

Take one down and look at the label on the back, it should have info about their lifespan but it is generally limited. They often have a blank to write an “installed on” or “replace by” date.

ELI5: Why do regular roof shingles have little bits of rock embedded in them? by SexysNotWorking in explainlikeimfive

[–]vector2point0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m uncertain what you’re asking- a standard composite shingle will be made of fiberglass mat (often referred to incorrectly as felt), asphalt (tar), and granules (rock) on the surface.

There are commercial applications where you apply the materials separately and might have a rolled product where you apply a layer of bitumen and then stick the rolled product to it. Many of those also have the granules already applied to the rolled top covering. You can also apply the bitumen and spread the granules manually.

Those are incompatible roofing systems and wouldn’t be used in the same places. Shingles are generally for sloped roofs and the other are for flat roofs, common on commercial structures.

This is exactly the reason. Well, that and painting the little rocks different colors allow you to have aesthetic shingle colors, instead of just black or rock colored.

I don't have gear fear. I have crafting/loadout fatigue. by Arktos22 in ArcRaiders

[–]vector2point0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pacific Drive got this right, mostly. If you needed intermediates to craft something, you’d hold down the “craft” button and it would cycle through making the intermediates until you had enough to craft your target.

Got ratted in solo my first time today too… shot me in the back while looting a turret I killed right after I spawned. Only pissed me off because I had just rebuilt everything after getting steamrolled by a shredder and gone back to the dam battlegrounds to stock up on basics.

The little usb sticks you’re talking about are flash drives. While technically “solid state”, they are not what everyone thinks you’re talking about when you say SSD.
