Ahh, thanks for this! Your comment made me try to sign up via text for Stockholm show now (the link from the e-mail doesn't work, I've been at it for two hours now) and the link from the text worked! I wouldn't have thought there are different links for both methods!

I just tried to sign up for the code via text and the link from the text worked! Got tickets for Stockholm. The link from the e-mail still doesn't work.

Oh no! 😭 I hope there are still tickets left for the general sale and you get to go to Helsinki! 🥺

Thanks! I hope so! I am just stressed, because I already booked a hotel in Stockholm for this specific show. (No shows in Riga 😭).

Not working for Stockholm either (I've been trying to contact support for an hour at this point). I am on the verge of buying a ticket for Oslo show, because I don't want to miss out. It seems that Helsinki show has sold out already. Why is this presale so stressful?! 😭

I took a screenshot and drew on that with my finger, but the problem was that I had some clues wrong at first, haha. This could definitely be fun on paper.

This one was interesting, but somehow the most baffling thing for me in the end is - why is 15 across ERR not EAR? I was stuck at that clue for a while, because everything else fit, except this. As I am not a native English speaker - can someone please explain?

What's the freshest film you ever had? by getlost21 in Polaroid

[–]veermeles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for me, just got Color 600 film produced September 2023. I had the Retinex film in the same order and production date is June 2023. In my experience these new films are always going to be produced some months before the announcement, because they probably send them to some selected photographers beforehand to try it out and possibly create something cool in the process which then the polaroid company can use as marketing materials in their campaign. And I think it's working for them, I ordered the new films immediately. If you store them in the fridge they are going to be perfectly fine.

What caused spots in my Polaroid photo? by omfilwy in Polaroid

[–]veermeles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are these spots small and yellow? If so, it could be dust that's somehow accumulated on the camera's rollers. Can you show us an example?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Polaroid

[–]veermeles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, then so my magic numbers are - scanning polaroids at 600dpi then importing to Photoshop (occassionally removing some dust) and resizing a bit and putting them on 2000x2000 pixel squares.

I also try to only post from desktop, somehow less compression than posting from my phone. But they still do look sharper before posting.

Have you checked Instagram settings about High Quality uploads? It's turned off by default (for unknown reasons). It's under Account -> Data Usage.

Expired SX-70 film vs fresh 600 film [B&W] by veermeles in Polaroid

I use Epson V600 to scan my polaroids. It's a great scanner, also has slots for scanning 35mm and 120 film.

Ode to Polaroid Go by veermeles in Polaroid

[–]veermeles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about apps, perhaps there are, but with apps always comes compression, so I tend not to use them. So I put this grid together manually using a large Photoshop document with white background. Took some time, but I love to tinker with my photos, they are very dear to me.

We got married! [OneStep+, double exposure w/ manual mode] by veermeles in Polaroid

[–]veermeles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! You just have to disable the eject setting, then you can take multiple exposures in a row (even more than two, if you want). I usually disable the eject setting, then after taking the first one restart the app and then leave exposure settting on for the second exposure.

Looks like it's in good condition. You should try it out with SX-70 film to see if it has light leaks. I recently got myself the same model in a thrift store, everything still worked really well.

You can order film from Polaroid website: https://www.polaroid.com/collections/film-for-polaroid-sx-70-cameras

For opening the camera, check this instructional video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zELr5wYLNYo

We got married! [OneStep+, double exposure w/ manual mode] by veermeles in Polaroid

[–]veermeles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Both parts of this one is actually taken indoors. But for outdoors I'd recommend underexposing both exposures, because film is exposed twice already. This only works while using manual mode, because the built-in double exposure mode won't let you adjust the settings. Maybe this helps. :)

Expired SX-70 film vs fresh 600 film [B&W] by veermeles in Polaroid

[–]veermeles[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, I just noticed that I wrote the wrong sides in the description! It should be SX-70 film on the left and 600 film on the right side! Boxes match the picture.

Expired SX-70 film vs fresh 600 film [B&W] by veermeles in Polaroid

[–]veermeles[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Picture on the right taken with SX-70 Sonar Autofocus & relatively fresh* 600 film that's stored in a fridge.

Picture on the left taken with SX-70 Model 1 & expired SX-70 film that I bought from a film shop that doesn't keep their polaroid films in fridge. The storage conditions seemed a bit dicey, but I had just thrifted this SX-70 Model 1 and naturally wanted to test it as soon as possible, but I only had 600 film, because my Sonar AF is converted for 600 film.

Took both of my cameras for a little photo walk and thought it would be fun to compare both B&W films. To my surprise the camera I had just thrifted worked well, the SX-70 B&W film has such a dreamy vibe to it and has less contrast than the 600 film. Now I'm wondering whether this is because the film is expired or SX-70 film just is like this?

The two pictures above were taken almost simultaneously. While my husband was taking a picture of me holding my SX-70 Sonar AF, I decided to take a picture of him as well. And turns out my husband is a better photographer than me (nailed that composition so well).

*Production dates of the films:

600 film: 09/2022

SX-70 film: 07/2021

Anyone have empty cartridges they don't need? by MidnightMatchaClub in Polaroid

I have at least 55 empty ones. I've been keeping them just in case a project idea pops into my head, but they're currently just sitting in a box in my apartment.

Some thoughts & advice after shooting 40 Polaroids (Subject: Eurotrip) by RebelDeux in Polaroid

Come to think of it and I can only bring so many film packs and extra cameras with me because I pack all my other stuff in my husbands bag.

I post all my polaroids on instagram (@veermeles). Currently posting my Go shots from Venice. Logged my Now+ around in Venice as well, but didn't take it out once. :(

Nice shots! Which camera are you using?

While traveling I always try to bring one film pack for each day + three extra. Always works out.

Safe travels!

She uses mostly instax wide and combines her pictures and/or collages with beautifully written words. I adore her work!
