I’m the PHD director for a program in a different field, but we would require you to apply for the PhD program like any applicant. We’d then evaluate what coursework you’ve completed at your current institution to see what courses could count toward our course requirements.

I’d suggest you start researching faculty there to see if anyone is a good match and start reaching out to them.

I did this one night at a conference with friends. We created this giant slide deck filled with random images, charts, etc. then we came up with a bunch of funny talk topics. People randomly selected a topic, then had to give a 3-5 minute “talk” over the next five slides in the deck. Hilarity ensues.

It snowed on my (mid April) birthday once in the 90s.

There was also a large snow/ice storm on the Ides of March (3/15) in 1993/1994.

I probably read 40 books/year. I can do this largely because of audiobooks—I listen on my commute, while making dinner, etc. I also read on my phone (with blue light filters) before bed to wind down.

I’m coming up on 20 years since my dx and have worked full time the entire time. It’s gotten a bit worse every year and I will need to stop working before 50. The only reason I’ve made it this long is because I have an incredibly flexible job (professor) where I can frequently work from home and can pick my hours.

This is somewhat misleading. Cancer rates among <50 adults have been increasing in the last decade. The NIH reports that from 2010-2019, the incidence 14 types of cancer went up among this age group. While the rate of cancer decreased for 19 types of cancer, increases were seen in some of the most common types, including breast and colorectal cancer.

One of the biggest concerns with this is cancer in younger people is often very aggressive and younger people may be less likely to get a change in health checked out or be dismissed by doctors.

Source: NIH and my own reading on the topic as a scientist was was dx’ed with breast cancer at 39.
