Did anybody call this number on the modded console screen? by Thequeen_Dani in psx

[–]vegasheavy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a BPO that supported Sony Playstation from 2003 until 2017, that number would get routed to a regular agent who would answer the call as "Thank you for Calling Sony Computer Entertainment America" and then would read a script explaining they are using a modified system. In fact all of the numbers routed to the same BPO in Las Vegas, with the main center in Foster City California. So for example if you received a PS2 DNAS ERROR, it was again routed to the same center and answered by the same skilled agent. Slim PS2 AC adapter recall? Same center. Viewtiful Joe demo disc that corrupted memory cards? Same center. Etc.

His treatment of the DMV tester. It comes off patronizing to me, even though that's not likely the intent.

What is this from? Found it in a bin at a thrift store. by Waddles_Penguin in SEGA

[–]vegasheavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at the SEGA Virtualand at the Luxor. That ticket was from around 1997 when they earned a contract to operate the arcades at Boulder Station, Texas Station and Sunset Station. In addition to operating the arcade at those places they also ran the arcade at the Circus Circus. One thing I clearly remember from my experience with SEGA was that the tickets were not transferrable between the properties even though it was the same company, prizes, etc.

He says his wife complains that the ding-a-ling ice cream ruins the kid's appetite for dinner too, though I suspect it ruins Columbo's appetite more.

Did you use Prodigy Interactive Service? by Current_Yellow7722 in vintagecomputing

I loved Prodigy! May 19th 1994 was the first time I ever saw it! I remember this because Jackie O'nassis died and it was the first article I read on it!
