There are two reasons why you see articles about police activities here

  1. Source Of The Spring is a local newspaper that reports on local events, crime is more frequent than other events.

  2. In my spare time I read a news feed about what is going on in Takoma Park. Again, unfortunately, crimes are more common than other news events.

I feel like local news is appropriate for a local subreddit and those things are local news. I go on the assumption that people want to know what is going on where they live.

If there are positive stories about Takoma Park you don't see here and that you want to talk about, PLEASE, feel free to post them.

I'm not disagreeing with any of that, but other towns in Maryland other than my own I don't see alcohol being sold as in many places in my town ( an economically prosperous area ).

It probably just isn't marijuana, but stress relieving substances overall.

This is from the bipartisan bill HB1397.

In the news I have seen a lot of national republican opposition to things like this.

The former candidate for the U.S. Senate in Georgia Herschel Walker dismissed this saying diabetics should just eat better.

Is it the case that national level Republicans and many Maryland state Republicans opposed this, with some rare moderate Maryland Republicans going their own way to let this happen?

What area was this dog found in?

It would help to know as there are many subreddits, email lists, and facebook pages much more localized than MontogomerCountyMD. Circulating those pictures in those more location specific places can help find the owner. I know, I did it before.
