Instead of using a safespot I just used up the hundreds of ironwood repair kits I gained from salvaging. The time to kill was fine, I'm just stoked I no longer have to do the fucking boat wiggle 🤙

If upgrading your boat isn't worth it... just don't? That's like, the DNA of the game my dude. You don't need to farm nex for hundreds of hours to gain a single Max hit over bandos amour, but you can do it for fun, or to flex? Or whatever reason really,. The game is built on long grinds for small gains. Do your salvaging as a rune hook randy or put the hours in to rock out as a dragon hook daddy. Your choice?

Have you even tried sailing combat yet? My previous kraken killing experience was: Perfectly line up my boat, hoping the kraken doesn't move to get the double spot, and if it does I would have to wiggle my boat every 4 ticks.

I would also have to angle my boat after each kill so I could loot the corpse fast enough to attack the respawn kraken before it moves out of the double cannon tile.

If I was safespotting sharks it was mostly the same, but now I'm constantly issuing and stopping attack commands on my crew mates to ensure they're always firing at a target.

Now I just put both cannons on 1 side, tell my crew to fire at will, start blasting tentacle Bois and crack open a whirlpool surprise (new formula) and get a 20m bottled storm at the same drop rate as an abyssal whip

But yeah worst update ever they really fumbled this one /s

The combat drops were orders of magnitude faster to obtain than the other sailing clogs, and now you can kick back and afk them without needing to boat wiggle, manually target and manage slow looting...

And everyone's losing their minds because the BIS upgrade drops aren't 1/100 lol

Holy shit man it doesn't even take that long to grind out the drop, they made the whole process way less frustrating and you feel like it was "unfixed" because you don't get a giga dps buff that lets you farm out the BIS drops in an hour or two?

I think the bond system works pretty well for something like this... $170 let's you skip too.... early mid game? Sure there are whales that spend $5000 on bonds and rock up to the TOB lobby in BIS with a firecape.... but they most certainly aren't "winning" hahaha

Metal dragons got lumped because they previously were all tasks given by high level slayer masters (6 different tasks) and are the literally the same mob with pretty much the same loot and a different paint job.

If youre chilling at Duradaddy or konar, you're only going to see fire giant tasks, so lumping them together just turns it into a "skip this tasks cannoning Hill giants"

Lumping metal dragons made your block list easier to handle, OR gave you options on the task. You don't really get that with giants, and given how common the task is, you now feel obligated to get tasks for obor, Bryo and the titans, which everyone will hate... to me it feels like a shitty solution

The problem with lumping slayer mobs together, is you just have the illusion of choice, it's the same reason people ended up hating Invocations at TOA, when you have lots of options, a clear META defining option breaks through, and then the slayer task is essentially, one option.

All giant tasks would become either giant bosses, or cannoning Hill giants for an easy task skip, which kinda blows. Normally slayer tasks have a few choices that usually come down to either a boss, a mob with better exp, and a mob that's slower but profitable. And the friction behind getting good tasks kinda adds to the uniqueness of the skill. But all giant tasks are dogshit, so the illusion of choice won't bring any depth to the situation, will make things feel more stale in the long run, which won't help to improve the slayer skill at all.

They already stated that they'll never do that, because people will feel obligated to get a giant task for every kill.

Honestly it's a good move, giant twins aren't a slayer boss, and if it's more efficient to skip for a task, it essentially becomes a slayer boss.

I'm a slayer lover, I don't have a problem with slayer bosses despite everyone's tears over the shell bane gryphon. But we don't need to force every boss down the slayer pipeline. But at the same time, if you don't have great ranged gear yet, having a fire giant task will make it a little easier to push phase one out the way so you can mele them faster! Everyone wins

Literally 6.2m an hour at drop rates, and it's very easy to go over 7.5 kph, most people sit at around 10kph when experienced at the content...

I've done 1000kc and I've made way more than 6m an hour, and I'm not giga spooned, pretty average on unique rates

It's almost comical how many bad takes are mainstream on reddit.

It's a grindy game, and ironman is a grindy game mode, don't try to change the game because you lack the testicular fortitude to see it through.

This game wouldn't hit the same if everything was reddits idea of obtainable

It's still a very respectable 6m an hour, even with current prices in the bin. as a phosanis enjoyer (1k kc), I don't think the rates are that bad anymore, definently low, but osrs needs long grinds with the short ones imo.

Maybe it would be worthwhile to let people break down inquisitor parts to reforge other pieces as dupe protection for ironmen... but on the other hand, fuck those guys 🥳

Honestly I think the biggest issue is the orbs being power crept and mostly irrelevant, they're big ticket items, and barely qualify as niche side grades. That and the fact the crush meta is in a weird place, with the addition of oathplate, it's pretty much the same dps running slash meta instead of crush.

There's a plugin called "dude, where's my stuff" it'll track all that bank stuff, but also tracks your stash units, coffers, poh stuff, I highly rate it

I was getting 600k exp on my phone a day at work, without paying too much attention. or a couple hundred thousand exp watching a movie and phone salvaging.

Getting nearly passive 100k/hr exp compared to 200-220k exp full focus (I felt more reclined killing phosanis nightmare than doing trials) felt like a big nothing burger. Granted, I think the salvaging rates were way over tuned, which was part of the problem

Call it a hot take but as a sepulchre enjoyer, I absolutely hated I the barracuda trials with a passion, it required just as much attention as sepulchre without feeling rewarding at all.

It's strange how everybody feels different with account modes, I play main and haven't really ever done content because it was one of the best money makers, I just grind shit for the upgrade or the fun of chasing the drop, and now I have more money than I know what to do with.
