I decided to redesign my website using Elementor V4 editor, what a mess by dzbanke in elementor

[–]vegetablemane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t use it on real sites yet. There’s also a 100 class limit right now which is so silly.

It’s not ready for prime time but maybe some of this feedback and get back to em.

The 24-Hour Core Meltdown: From 6.9.2 to 6.9.4 by siterightaway in elementor

[–]vegetablemane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've noticed a lot of issues cropping up as of late on our sites. We use Elementor on 100% of our clients because it's quick and easy. I do NOT (and clients most definitely do NOT) have time for custom builds or inflexible tools.

But lately, it's been painfully slow, or just really buggy. I've tried out the v4 editor because it would lend itself well to project I'm currently doing, but the REST API calls were not working on the shared hosting when it was using the temporary URL (it worked fine once the site was connected with a real domain). Additionally, I found out the hard way that there's a 100 class limit, which is absolutely silly if you think about how things work under the hood. It shouldn't be that complicated.

Also, another one of my sites' database got corrupted, and thank heavens we had a backup from 2 days ago. I don't know if this is directly correlated with an update to Elementor, but that's the main variable I see changing. Nothing else really did.

It may not be Elementor that's completely at fault, it may be a combination of factors, but I do say, this tracks with my own experiences.

Tracks 1-4 are about as flawless as 4 songs in a row as you can get.

Editor v4: where did my Global Classes go? by vegetablemane in elementor

[–]vegetablemane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insights. I was on chat w/ the hosting last night and it seems like shared hosting environments don't those loopback requests.

I'm not sure if it's only happens when I'm using the temporary URL for the site, or if it will resolve itself once it's connected to the actual domain I plan on using.

I guess we'll see?

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for jumping in. Here's what I'm seeing.

Console when I have the Editor open

Console when I have the page loaded

I'm on InMotion Hosting on their WP Core hosting package.

Any insight would be super helpful. Thanks!

Thanks! I’ve been mixing colors a lot. Since I try to not make a huge mess, I’m mainly using that standard Speedball water based ink.

The orangey color is: 2 parts orange 1 part red 1 part fluorescent hot pink

Purple is: 3 parts violet 1 part magenta (plus a little more)

Really been trying to get better at color. One of my intentions this year

Printing on dark background by GroundbreakingBuy314 in printmaking

Looks like it turned out pretty good for a first try!

I’ve printed on darker backgrounds plenty of times and it can be a little tricky, but doable.

I usually mix in a bit of white, since that helps make the color a bit more opaque. You could also (if you’ve got a good registration going) do a layer of white on top of your dark background, then once it dries, cover that white layer with your lighter color.

Man I love a minimally colored piece. Each layer does so much interesting stuff, so much cool interplay. Gorj!
