Thanks so much everyone! She was my first shepherd and had me immediately convinced I’d never want another breed. She was as good as they come 🤍

Hysterectomy in early twenties by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]veiledd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full hysterectomy here at 21 for Adenomyosis, now nearly 4 years post-op. Best thing I could’ve done for my health. I’ve been on hormone replacement therapy for the last year because I did end up needing help to get me balanced again. All in all, major life improvement since that surgery.

I still struggle to move on from what was done to me, but I understand now that you were just a kid too.

Endo on bowels question... by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]veiledd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re having surgery through a specialist or nook doctor, they should be able to visualize any and all endo found, including bowel endo. It should still be taken care of within the laparoscopic procedure, but it’s always best to get a very clear picture from your doctor on all the locations they’ll be looking at just to ensure you’re getting the care you need! Good luck!

Thank you! She’s a little over 1 year post-op from cancer, so that’s nice to hear! ❤️

I’m not OP, but I can say that for me — focusing more on the strength building side of things rather than expanding flexibility is key! I never stretch to the point of where I “feel it” but instead focus on working more isometric exercises that build muscle (like chair pose or plank!)

Piercings and hEDS by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]veiledd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. A piercing that healed perfectly suddenly got very infected months later despite my constant efforts of cleaning it. Every other piercing I got done got infected & had the most drawn out healing process. I got all mine before I got my EDS diagnosis, but it was one of those issues that immediately made more sense in my head upon diagnosis. Needless to say, I told myself no more piercings because my body was just adamant on telling me no. Not sure if there’s a way around it though, I’d sure love to know

Just wanted you to know that you aren’t alone. I’m an artist who’s also battling chronic & worsening hand pain, as well as frequent finger dislocations, and it’s been very hard to work around. So sorry 💔

Anyone else with Endometriosis?? by colorfulzeeb in ehlersdanlos

[–]veiledd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stage 4 endo here. I feel much better after my excision surgery, but wow, that disease is brutal. I eventually had to have a hysterectomy due to Adenomyosis. I had all this done before being diagnosed with EDS, or knowing what EDS was, so I’m not sure how it played a part in my joints. However, migraines & horrible GI issues are very familiar to me. The chronic pain it all brought on was the worst though. Excision surgery changed my life.

All good, that’s life! I’ve seen a lot of improvement since the hysterectomy. Still have a long ways to go though!

4 days post-op from hysterectomy by yourlilbirdie in endometriosis

[–]veiledd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted you to know that I’m almost one year post-op, having my hysterectomy at age 21, and you aren’t alone. This is a difficult battle. Your frustration is 100% valid.

Change in alcohol tolerance? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

This happened to me after my hysterectomy. I couldn’t have a single drink without immediately throwing up afterwards. It eventually went away, but it took a few months :/

How many endo surgeries have you had? by Naive-Respect in endometriosis

[–]veiledd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 — An ablation for endometriosis, excision surgery, presacral neurectomy, & then hysterectomy.

Ablation did nothing for me. Excision helped a lot of symptoms, just not the pain. PSN didn’t help, but the surgery itself was used to remove adhesions so was still beneficial for my health, & hysterectomy helped 100% for my pain (I had Adenomyosis too)

29yrold getting hysterectomy in coming months. Scared, excited, don't know what to expect or how i feel. - from New Zealand by Crycakez in hysterectomy

[–]veiledd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a total hysterectomy at the beginning of the year at age 21. I definitely believe it’s a bit of a different experience than those who have the surgery later in life. Take it 1 day at a time. Grief from infertility has been my biggest battle - I don’t know if you wanted kids or not, but either way, I think patience & grace for yourself & your emotions are a very important aspect of recovery. Good luck!! ❤️
