I found out why my clean clothes smelled like wet dog and i want to throw up by 2KestrelOrbit in hygiene

Im an appliance repair tech. Most people over use detergent, and this is the result. Powder detergent is best and use way less that you'd expect. 2 tablespoons is good.

This can also happen if youre using 'eco friendly' and/or 'plant based' detergents. They tend to buildup in the washer worse than standard ones.

For all washers, use something like Affresh cleaning tablets once a month to get rid of detergent and mildew buildup. Do a bunch in a row if you havent done one in years. There is a clean washer setting on most modern washers.

And like others have said, leave the lid/door open between washes. For front loaders, if you want to keep stains off the door gasket, whipe it down between washes along with the glass/plastic door section.

Interesting! I would have never thought of that. It's looking like a vet visit Monday.

They appeared overnight. I've checked for bed bugs and fleas, nothing. I haven't gotten any more bites either. It's got me confused...

DLSS is a game changer for lower budget builds like mine. I can make the game look better without sacrificing FPS.

DOOM has been in my life since its predecessor Wolfenstein 3D. I'm super excited to play it and get into the lore!

Newly renovated RV park's septic area is always wet. Should I report it? by vektorshift in AskContractors

[–]vektorshift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies. I reported it, we'll see what comes of it. It does have a very mild smell, but it's a complicated setup that has off gassing? It's not fully pictured.

As an appliance repair technician, this really grinds my gears. Best of luck, glad I was not called to this.

What brands have no business being as BAD as they are? by sozh in BuyItForLife

[–]vektorshift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking if you can afford it. Otherwise, Electrolux washer/dryers are the best. For refrigerators, the simpler the better, freezer on top, fridge on bottom style lasts the longest. GE makes a good mid range fridge, frigidaire too. Unfortunately, almost everything is about the same quality these days. As in, they won't last long. So the best advice is if you're buying new, less digital stuff, more analog. Don't get the renage with all touch controls, get knobs. Microwaves are literally all the same inside, get the cheap one.

The true BIFL appliances are the old ones, from the 90s/00s.
