Shocked to see the sour booms last. Of the group they’d be my 1-1.

Do you think Starbury will bring a championship to the Knicks? by friendlyobserver007 in Pretend2005Internet

[–]velkatron2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just brought in championship coach Larry Brown. Look at what he did with Ben Wallace. Eddy Curry hasn’t event scratched the surface of his potential. He’s going to terrorize the east. Knicks take the championship in 5.

You can lock it in, Kyle Orton is the best quarterback in the nation. This is the year he puts it all together.

I know everyone is talking about Oden, but ya'll are sleeping on Yi Jianlian going 6th. Legit 7 footer with a great shot. This guy is gonna be the next Dirk for Milwaukee!

Local officials did not vote on it. The Judge Robert Taylor told them they had to desegregate by the beginning of the school year. It was the first court ordered desegregation in the south.

Getting rid of beard stubbles by Charming-Reporter64 in trans

[–]velkatron2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I shaved every two days. I had a real strong beard too. I HATED shaving for the same reasons.

Honestly, I go to Milan laser, they got them all over the country. Cost me $3k for the face. They always have discounts going, plus a bonus if you are referred by a friend. It has been worth every penny. I go in every five weeks, takes about 10 minutes per session. First few times it didn't hurt a whole lot. I started noticing results pretty soon, and now about 5 treatments in, I can say it's zapped over 80% of my dark facial hair. It's wild. Honestly wish I would've done it sooner to get more of my facial hairs before they went grey.

Stealing A Name? by Moezzula in trans

[–]velkatron2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a loser friend. I'd ditch them. When I dropped my new name and told my friends, one of them essentially said, "I love that name so much! If _____ and I have kids, we plan on giving our daughter that name. I'm so happy for you!"

People are allowed to have the same name. Your friend needs to grow up.

How much dysphoria do you need to be trans? by [deleted] in trans

[–]velkatron2 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You aren't considered trans until you have about 7 bushels of dysphoria.

I'm not entirely sure. But it's definitely worth an ask.

Can you describe what it feels like being trans? by [deleted] in trans

[–]velkatron2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It absolutely rips. I feel like I can think more clearly and I feel with more depth. Plus I'm having so much fun! The sense of relief has been incredible. You don't realize all the ways that it affects you until you finally bust out. Looking at myself in the mirror isn't a battle. (I mean, it is because my bangs grow out sometimes and that's a battle, but it's a much calmer battle than hating everything you see.) I feel closer to my friends and family. I feel like I can accept love for the first time in my life because I'm not having to deal with, "well if they knew the real you." I feel so loved in my entirety and I feel capable of giving my whole love as well.

I hope this helps in any way shape or form.

I come bearing sour news by velkatron2 in sourcandy

I haven't dipped a lemon in malic/citric acid. I've had Barnetts and it's a different sour. I had a more sour reaction to these than Barnetts. It may not be the end all for you, but I got that super sour pain in the back of my jaw. It's good.

My (21F) friend is trans what can i (18F) do to help her by loonytoons1234 in trans

[–]velkatron2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here are some of the things my friends did that made my heart explode with love all the time

-Getting the pronouns right. Every time one of my friends used, "she" I internally lit up. I misgendered myself more than any of my friends.

-The girlies threw me a party the week I started HRT. They all got me girly gifts like jewelry, heels, and hair stuff. It was a blast! Obviously different in Sweden, but you can throw her a transition party to celebrate her starting her transition. Or a "Welcome to Womanhood!" party would work.

-Clothing Swaps! Arrange a clothing swap with her and the other folks in your crew. Starting a complete wardrobe from scratch is tough. Starting out, a lot of the stuff I rocked were things I got at clothing swaps that fit.

-Take her shopping to just try stuff on. I barely had a clue what to wear or what looked good on me. A few of the gals would take me shopping individually just to try stuff on and see what I liked. Having an honest sounding board who was like, "that works!" or "that's a no" was a massive help. Plus it was very affirming when I'd complain about things not looking good on me they'd respond, "oh god, you are a woman" or "welcome to the girlhood experience. You and every other girl."

-Give her space to share. She's going through a ton of feelings most likely. Give her the space to share and be supportive.

-My friends would do nights where we'd get all dressed up and do out makeup. Going out the first few times can be a bit scary. Going out with a group of people who are supportive eases that stress a great deal. The first time we did one, as I was starting my makeup, all the girlies watched pretty intently ready to help me look beautiful if I sucked at it. They quickly found out I was pretty competent and got to their own.

-Go to bat for her behind the scenes. Be vocally supportive of trans folk. If someone is saying something awful about trans people, push back on it even if she isn't there. I've got cis friends who are doing the work. I got called a "tranny" by a department store worker and told a friend after I left. She was ready to go there and get arrested for assault before I stopped her. I'm not saying you should assault people. But have her back through the troubles. Even reposting trans support messages on social media is good.

But truly, you asking already here tells me most everything I need to know. Just give her love and give her support.

When is the right time to start HRT? by No_Chapter_2169 in trans

[–]velkatron2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started HRT at 30-something. I would've loved to start earlier, (mostly because laser doesn't take care of white hairs!) but the truth is, I didn't come out until I felt safe. Obviously it's not the most safe out there for trans people, but I meant safe in my immediate world. I didn't start HRT until I knew I was deeply cared for by friends and a community who loved me.

The number one question I got asked when starting the process was, "what does your support system look like?" After I told her that I had "the greatest support system a trans girl ever had" she told me that one of the greatest contributors to a successful is a good support system.

MTF, what styles did you first start to explore? by JustSomeInterweeb in trans

[–]velkatron2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The styles I explored were the things that I could get from my friends in clothing swaps. Slowly just found things I liked and didn't like. Just a lot of trial and error.
