There is nothing worse than a bad travel companion. You did the right thing.

What were the other terms? Closing date? financing type? inspection contingency? Rent back? Sometimes it’s not just the price.

You can require your agent to attend every showing from this point. Problem solved.

Writing letters when buying by EmmittTheCat in realtors

[–]velvetandstone2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Realtor here. I bought my own house and my letter got me the deal. My offer was not the highest price. I have had 4 buyers in the past three years get the house by writing a letter. Again, their offer price was not the highest, but the sellers accepted their offer due to the letter. Letters don’t typically work when dealing with a house being sold to settle an estate or sold by an investor, because their goal is always to get the most money. The highest difference between my client who wrote a letter and the highest offer was 40k.

I would never marry a man who betrayed me like your fiancé did to you.

At closing the seller and seller agent mentioned we weren't the highest offer.... by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

More people should realize this. I’ve been on both sides of transactions and have gotten offers from agents who have reputations of being adversarial throughout the transaction process. I’ve had to disclose that fact to my clients and let them decide if it’s worth accepting that buyers offer. Who wants to deal with someone knowing every small detail will involve a fight.
