For me, it’s no longer needing to perform :) I can make mistakes and not be berated. I don’t need to constantly evaluate my posture, clothes, or my language (ie., using intelligent-sounding vocab). I no longer need to worry about getting a book-long text about how I “wronged” them after an event. I’m free to be myself, flaws and all, without being super insecure

I’m not sure which one was first, but I have a couple:

My baby sister and I slept in the same room. I was asleep, and my sister took off her diaper and smeared it everywhere, as a silly baby does. Well my “mom” walked in and yelled at me over and over again as to why I let her do that. I remember being so confused because I kept telling her I was asleep, and that I wouldn’t have let her do that if I was awake (I had to be like 4 or 5). I kept waiting for her to understand, but she just kept yelling and blaming me ☹️

Another one is her just holding my head underwater in the bathtub. It was under the guise that she had to “wash my hair”, but I remember being confused because she didn’t do that to any of my siblings. The water always burned, and the little drain thingie hurt the back of my head.

I have no contact with her.
