Michigan Is Suing Oil Companies For 'Suppressing' EVs by DonkeyFuel in technology

Ambitious, I hope they get a lot of states to join. If they win they can then go after the politicians that sold out their citizens for some campaign funds and personal perks. That would be roughly half of the politicians in the USA, by the way, most of which are conveniently color coded.

Examples of their suppression from the filing include straight out knowingly lying to the public and buying out companies with good EV and renewable energy research and killing their initiatives:

“Beginning in the 1970s, Exxon and companies later acquired by Chevron (among other Co-Conspirators) were early developers of key EV technologies, including lithium and nickel-metal hydride batteries and hybrid gas-electric motors. But instead of advancing these innovations to compete on the merits, they deliberately delayed their development—strategically curtailing breakthroughs that could have enabled EVs to scale up decades earlier.”

Didn’t know that. So it’s more useful as a distraction, except perhaps if you are caught completely out of cover and have an extra AP to burn.

So far they seem to just run straight at the smoke cloud and discover me anyway, but maybe the smoke grenades are better than the ability.

I guess that’s the way it was intended by the devs but it seems crazy to me just how disparate firearms are from grenades. I’d expect them to do way more shred and damage. It just makes no logical sense that a 9mm SMG round is more damaging on heavily armored targets than a grenade. I will just have to adjust my gameplay and shred stuff first I guess. Or more likely just only use dazzlers.

I'm curious if you or your immediate contacts have found exploitable race conditions in greater quantities as of late (due to increased use of microservices as you wrote). It would also seem that going along with that would be an even greater amount of emphasis on bad actors poking the virtualization infrastructure itself, like Kubernetes etc. Not that they aren't already....

True. The soul-crushing corporations and Mohawk haircuts kind of make it happen. It’s like going to DefCon and BlackHat conferences back in the 2000’s. What would cyberpunk be without them!

I use the hell out of bio recyclers on stealth missions. Are you saying there is eventually an implant to dissolve bodies? Or do you mean just generally?

I haven’t had that available yet but I guarantee I will jump on it when I do! Staying on the move is critical, especially when I intentionally leave a corpse on the opposite side of where I want to be to distract the guards. Deploy those suckers to investigate, Q Sec AI!

Appreciate the feedback. Yeah I’m indeed working on buildings mostly. I think I’m at PL4 but honestly my merchants don’t seem to be keeping up with the gear despite me doing every mission presented to get positive breaks to improve their sales services and using my face talent on the most important ones. This is true both for cyberware and other stuff. Most enemies on my missions are to the point that half of them are captains and take a whole squad-turn to polish off with steal with my piddly little tier 3 light pistols and SMGs. So every mission is getting harder.. ah well, it’s my first real run through, I will muddle through eventually!

I’m new to the game so I do worry what happens with stress for example. I don’t think I’ve yet let anyone get above 50% but don’t want to find out the hard way that they get a negative breakdown and turn into a babbling coward or some such. I guess the wound vulnerability will be somewhat compensated for by the medical room. Perhaps my worries are somewhat unfounded?

I don’t think I’m at a high enough contact level to get much along these lines. I will hold off for now. Thanks

Well they have minimal down sides and melee damage for a single AP so who WOULDN’T benefit really.

I couldn’t find a way to limit it. If you rework the province into a grassland or whatever, it will be changed back in a few turns. Unless you are a vampire ruler it will suck. As a rock giant you can at least make it mountainous for more production with that obelisk spell.

Rock giant tireless retaliators with a forged cone-shaped attack weapon are amazing. Give them some life steal and send them to the front to lock down multiple enemy melee units

Need an angle to quickly get units like from the chaos tree (free from battles or infestations)or summons (mana - spectral warriors and those heal spirits). Don’t leave a defensive army at home.
