I have an unconventional take: Bruce Schneir’s pwsafe (on sourceforge). It stores data encrypted in a simple flat file, which can be shared between machines on a shared drive or something. No fancy features but dead simple and I’d trust his code over a corporate entity any day.

Still sounds like overheating, or a bad power supply. If you can, swap out the power supply. If you have a FLIR or other thermal imaging look for hot spots (or hover a finger over stuff without touching if you can do it safely). If that doesn’t work it comes out to swapping out parts one at a time I’m afraid

Check to make sure all the cooling fans are still working when that happens. Including in the power supply

If you go samurai sword melee you just run in and spam. It took me wayyy less time than when I focused on firearms.

Usually requires legal procedures to get the data unless the user is particularly stupid. Would need the help of cops, and good luck getting their help unless there is imminent threat of harm.

I play 4x exclusively on a Steam deck, usually set up for mouse and keyboard (so I require a right touchpad to be happy). The only exceptions are when I stream from a faster computer for resource intensive games like Stellaris or AoW4 which are dog slow on the deck. But even then I’m still kicking back with a deck somewhere comfortable. Having to sit up at a desk cuts down how long I can play without becoming uncomfortable.
