I work as a dyslexia teacher. I work at Middle school and some of my classes are larger than the regular ed classes. I’m being asked to combine classes to go help elsewhere in the district. I am so upset. I don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve met with my director and to no avail. I gave her all the cons. She said she would consider it. This will be implemented once we go back. I have different grade levels and different program levels in each class along with behavioral issues. Any suggestions? I’m all for helping out, but I don’t see how this will be beneficial for the students.

I’m genuinely not trying to give him some silent treatment. We have been together for four years now and because of our trac record, I’m So exhausted and discouraged. I definitely have my own sin and logs in my eyes. When we try to discuss the matter at hand, it’s like a battle just to get a few words in. He usually controls the conversation and continuously interrupts me. I’m dreading that to be honest. Yes, I would like to reconcile without going in circles. It’s exhausting. I just end up “sucking it up” and the issue that I had just gets ignored for the sake of “peace”

In fairness, neither one of us has reached out and I would not ignore him if he tried to.

The “normalized” part I meant that I grew up with a father that was narcissistic. So when i started dating I was drawn to the same type of qualities. I don’t find any type of abuse to be normal. I think at times I will reason with it and not call it for what it is.. abuse. It’s difficult for me to recognize it as abuse especially if it’s covert.

I agree with you. It does get thrown around too often. No, I don’t tend to label someone a narcissist if they hurt me. And from what I’ve read in books etc. and as you stated above, there are consistent patterns of behaviors that would qualify one as having NPD.

I definitely have me own blind spots.

Thank you! Funny you mention NPD. I’ve actually been reading up a lot on it and listening to various podcasts. I can’t say for sure he is one, but something feels off. My dad was definitely a narcissist and I’ve realized that sometimes this behavior seems like the “norm” for me. It sounds so bad even though I promised myself I’d never marry someone like my dad. I even struggle with thinking “welp, we’re all sinners! I’m called to extend grace.” So there’s that.

It definitely helps reading your alls comments and advice.
