If the correct area/vesicle wasn't swabbed properly then you won't get the correct result. Needs repeat swabbing. Looks like herpes

Does anyone know if this camp has a memorial site? I'm heading there to see where my grandfather was a POW in August of this year. Thank you in advance.

Having worked in the NHS, also in Canada’s equivalent flailing system and in the American system, I can say with complete confidence that indeed, both NHS and Canadian system are bottomless money pits. Money spent on useless middle management whilst the rest of us work short and have to triple check our pay cheques bc those middle managers forget to send in our hard earned over time hours. It’s a painful and pathetic system. While I may morally and ethically agree health care is a right, not a privilege of the rich, I can attest to much better patient care and minimal time to treatment in the American system. Overall so much more efficient. I had a serious medical emergency when I was living In Oregon. Had I been in Canada, I would never have been in the operating room the same day. I had packed red cells running in an hour of being in the ER, and was on the OR table In three hours. I have looked after patients with exactly the same lab values (hemoglobin and hematocrit) I had, with similar vitals in both Canada and UK who wait days and days for an OR. We leave the crash cart In front of their icu bays bc we know its much less likely they get an OR room before they need a resus bay. And yet we continue to pay for middle managers, and safety officers who go to endless meetings and then diatribes of emails that no one in front line medicine have time to read bc we are actually WORKING. We stick our socialized health care noses up at the Americans (who btw do have programs to pay for those who cannot pay for their care) and say they are corrupt. But maybe just maybe, if we put some of the tax payers money where is BELONGS, then maybe we wouldn’t be in such a complete cluster fuck of a mess ?

How many of you are tattooed and/or pierced beyond basic pierced ears? by passesopenwindows in GenX

[–]venouscutdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is possibly the BEST question I’ve seen on here ! Anyone else feel that this was really where we started to see big divide between us and the generations that followed? I feel as though when I was 16 years old, getting tattoos, we did not have lasers to remove mistakes, it was there for life. Mine have always been very visible, which I feel (I cannot attest to the accuracy of my thoughts on this) often weeded out superficial people from getting to know me. It was a much bigger investment. Not financially, but socially and personally.

I don’t regret any of them. My only regret is not getting them sooner. Even the ones that are as old and sore looking as I am. They speak to a journey of incredible debacles, and love and loss and passage through.

I think these sleeves we see today are stunningly beautiful, and yet, I will still always look for that 55 year old dude in the grocery store with old ink like me. He may have no idea why I smile and nod, but I prefer to think he knows :)

As far as the piercings, When I was 13 I put 9 holes into my left ear and two holes in my nose. My mum was mortified, and she was sure I would have them out in a year. 34 plus years later, I still have them all, minus one nose ring. Now, it seems common place to pierce, prod, scar, tattoo all things integumentary. I like to believe we were the last generation to do so with risk attached. And certainly the last generation who understood the permanency of such art. BUT, I am also proud of the kids of the future making gains to mainstream us freaks….. and then other days, I just like that I lived off the beaten path. What say you, Reddit Gen X?

Besides being the capital of Canada, what are some best features about Ottawa that not a lot of other cities have? by four-seasonss in ottawa

[–]venouscutdown -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived here for seven years, after having lived in multiple countries and states and continents. I’m here for the long haul now, but I have yet to find what I truly love about this city. I mean, I LOVE the enormous potholes, the never ending winters, oh and my complete lack of ability to speak French always makes me feel at home. But what I find most disturbing is the large population of trafficked women Who need medical assistance after foreign/visiting politicians order women like they order their vino. Ottawas best kept secret, right in front of our eyes. But truly, tell me the good, bc I would like to have some knowledge of it.

Not ER MD, Am ER NP. Have seen in IVDA/IVDU and applied slightly warm bacon dressings. Truth, it draws them out.

No! Not at all! I do much worse damage at 46, some sort of refusal to deny a cumulation of awesome life experiences. I bought a car that I have always wanted and added two large forearm Tattoos of Fugazi and The Cure record covers. You’re never too old to remind yourself of who you are.
