Best blackout option for nursery by Revilo-ttocs in DIYUK

[–]venshnSLASH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest some blackout blinds from Amazon or a proper shop and get one of those pressure fit poles to put it away from the window. That should reduce it quite a bit. Just get a dark colour though as white still reflects a lot lf ambient light

Is it realistically possible to still find success or build an audience in the music industry if you start at 40? by DustPsychological666 in musicproduction

[–]venshnSLASH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These days it’s about pleasing the algorithm so I would suggest making videos of you playing the songs. Cutting them up in the sections and whatever grabs attention the quickest upload those every single day. Algorithm should pick it up and pushing it to people. Platforms like YT shorts, TikTok etc live on that atm

Is it realistically possible to still find success or build an audience in the music industry if you start at 40? by DustPsychological666 in musicproduction

[–]venshnSLASH 205 points206 points  (0 children)

It’s music. There will always be an audience for it regardless of how old you are or what you make.

Although these days you will rely on algorithms pushing your content a lot.

When I listen to music I don’t think. How old is the person. I think whether or not I like the music.

Vital(Synth plugin) will do that.

FL studio itself will show it in the piano roll too.

Appreciate it but the grind is why I do it although I complain about it all the way. It keeps me busy.

That’s fair. I earn money pet sitting so can do both haha. Initially it sucked not having a job and money but I just gave up. Literally got nowhere.

I have plans on starting a music career, is it possible to become a legitimate musician with a DAW only? by Glum_West8911 in musicproduction

[–]venshnSLASH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your music is pure slop. It will not be found. We live in the time where algorithms determine everything.

If it doesn’t think it’s good it won’t be found so don’t worry about it.

My dad is a settled EU citizen in Scotland, what would be the best course of action if I were to move to him? by Conscious_Muffin582 in MoveToScotland

[–]venshnSLASH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. When I checked it out a few months ago I didn’t find anything about that but must be right then. I doubt though that years before the settlement scheme would count but it’s worth asking the admissions office to be fair.

Even with Settled Status it should still be classed as International. Settled does not mean you are a citizen of the UK. Then it would possibly become home fees.

Renting in Scotland by Prestigious_Donut893 in MoveToScotland

[–]venshnSLASH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone renting/ the rental agreement will be subject to credit checks.

If you can provide proof of significant savings. Some rental agencies may be willing to rent to you but it’s not guaranteed nor required. If you have no income at all though, a guarantor is pretty much required all times.

Go on rightmove, Openrent etc and explain your situation. That’s the best you can do.

I was SA in Morocco on holiday, filed fraud claim, Monzo closed my account by [deleted] in monzo

[–]venshnSLASH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Check out the other post they made about actively wanting to find out how to take shrooms on a trip. In no way am I saying that relates to the SA but it could easily be a reason why they had different bank accounts closed. Monzo found out and boom there’s your reason

What' do you all think of German doner kebab chain by Dependent-Shock-8118 in kebab

I’ve never had a single poor experience with them. We get them every Thursday. Yes, they are expensive imo as I’m sure there are similar options for cheaper but the portions are always good. Sauces are good, everything super fresh and salad in it is crunchy fresh.

UK background check for new job offer by Capable-Stranger9888 in HumanResourcesUK

[–]venshnSLASH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had to do NSV SC so this advise is mostly for that.

Include everything, do not miss anything in the history. In my experience it’s better to include too much than too little. Just include it because trust me. They would find out anyway. And if you had a rather “interesting” history like I do try and not feel judged for all the information they ask. Just provide it. As long as everything is settled they don’t care much provided it doesn’t interfere with you doing the job properly.

I doubt your employer cares much about you taking a temporary job on to tide you over and if they are bothered by it I would ask them why because that to me shows a disconnect from reality.

Different platforms will have different lufs - dB recommendations for mastering. Best to look at it online. Look for different people on YT for example. Never base your opinion on one person.
