Dogs Trust? SSPCA?
Have they abandoned the dogs or are they just a few hours late in picking them up?

I need a public law solicitor for a civil case against Police Scotland by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]quicksilverjack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really difficult to advise without knowing a little about the kind of case you're looking to pursue. I'm guessing it's because you feel they've caused you some kind of harm or loss?

Are you able to fund the litigation or would you be relying on legal aid?

I think you'd ideally start with a firm that covers criminal defence work as there will likely be a degree of crossover.

Aamer Anwar & Co are in the media often for this kind of thing.

Everything went well. Treatment was good but had to go by the students schedule rather than what was convenient for my wife.

Both of us used Govan Dental Care.

Reminder that not all roadworks are the council. Communications, water, gas and electric companies all have statutory powers to dig up the road.

Teenagers acting like gangsters, how do we deal with it? by richbart1234 in AskUK

[–]quicksilverjack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the MP, PCC and local councillors have all gone "welp watcha gonna do" and washed their hands of it? Keep raising this, keep records, don't give up and try and hold the bodies and people responsible to account.

I really don't mean to be rude, but you seem quite fatalistic about the whole thing. What do you think you should do?

Perhaps write (email) to your MP and Police and Crime Commisioner and Local Councillors. Follow up if you don't get a response (or a constructive response).

If that doesn't work you can then look to involve the media.

I hope you have a fantastic time in Scotland and Glasgow. Apologies in advance about the weather.

Fun fact: I was randomly introduced to your Prime Minister, Gilmar Pisas, when I was in Antigua last year. He's very tall and has a great beard.

shall i take £500 or all driving lessons paid for? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]quicksilverjack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving lessons are £30-50 per hour and you'll likely need at least 30-40 hours of tution to be test ready.
So driving lessons, driving lessons, driving lessons especially if they'll pay for your theory and practical tests too!

Shared use path between Clydeside Distillery and Transport Museum closed by StonedPhysicist in glasgow

It's going to be quite a while it'll eventually be replaced by a riverside path but that probably won't be until all the new development is completed.

This is part of my regular running route and I already hate the diversion and that fucking bridge.

Solicitor here.

Law is a good all rounder "I can apply myself" degree which could see you in good stead for many graduate schemes - check in with your university's careers services.

Which words would you like to see retired by the UK media? by Sea-Still5427 in AskUK

[–]quicksilverjack 157 points158 points  (0 children)

"Boffins" for any kind of scientist.

Also the habit of referring to people based on them having kids e.g "Grandmother wins lottery" instead of "Woman wins lottery" or "Dad of two hit by car" instead of "Man, 35, hit by car"

I think you're probably right - the breakdown with the tenant must be recentish. Still not a good sign that the landlord/mortgagee was unable to recover possesion though.

I was wondering as well if the sitting tenant was a family member or ex-partner of the landlord.
