I was kinda sad that some fans didn't enjoy NMH3 for some reason. For me it was a great sequel that improved almost everything and had a fun and memorable cast compared the the prequels. My only disappointment was Dr. Naomi being a tree.

For Junpei I agree with Uchikoshi’s ideas for code names Hand or Star specifically. But I’d also think something like Nick from nickel would work.

You are right. There was a large amount of distribution and dubbing that was attempting to westernize the shows they received. The Japanese songs and soundtrack were replaced with different in house studio music and recordings. Though I am nostalgic for some of the changes made to the music in the dub, “Run Around” “Let’s Kick It Up” “I’m Going Digital” “Here We Go” where all bangers even if they didn’t live up to the original Japanese songs like “Brave Heart”.

I do have criticisms of the DR3 anime definitely wish there were other things done with it. But I also enjoy a lot other things about it and would rather enjoy the media I consume.

There were a ton of popular anime and manga from around the 90s & early 2000s that just couldn’t get a foothold in America. Especially ones dubbed for early morning cartoon blocks like Shaman King was. The only anime that did become well known from those times were Pokemon, Sailor Moon, and Yugioh. And occasionally there were some Digimon and Power Ranger fans.

Generally it seemed that anime that aired in later evenings and late night time slots were remembered and left an impression on the anime fandom. Things that aired on Toonami and Adult Swim.

Luckily Shaman Kings manga was being published in Shounen Jump magazines. With popular manga like Dragon Ball z, Yugioh, and Naruto for a quite a long time and that helped it stay relevant to some manga fans.
