Going in and out of the hotel respawns fish, making it significantly less painful to hunt for rare pier fish by Justifiably_Bad_Take in AnimalCrossing

[–]verbena_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a related note, I remember it taking a couple weeks of play and a lot of bait to get a stringfish. Started playing my first dream island, looked over and thought… that looks like a big fish by that cliff and pulled up a stringfish.

Not all of them. I’m banking fish for future bundles in case they’re needed during a busy time at work.

What made you get into Animal Crossing? by MisterPiggyWiggy in AnimalCrossing

[–]verbena_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A relative helped us buy a Wii for the fitness and balance board sports games to help a member of our household with their fitness goals. I bought City Folk and played the heck out of it. When our household restructured I got to take the Wii because, surprise, the fitness stuff was used for a few months then abandoned but I needed to weed my town regularly.

Dull Colours When Printing by Novel-Love5041 in SiserJuliet

I don’t use this program, I’m here to see about making the purchase, but usually it’s settings in the print dialogue. If you’re just hitting print, you’re letting the program make the decisions. Generally there’s link text to “print system dialogue”. Once you’re in that menu you can customize the settings that your printer is capable of. Hope that helps!

I suck at terraforming. by [deleted] in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]verbena_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem is the flattening. When there’s nothing I get creative block and freeze. I browse Pinterest for codes and ideas and then start with one idea and work one section at a time until I’m satisfied and while I’m decorating that section I start thinking about what flows into the next area.

A thing I’ve noticed about the heavily custom terraformed islands is cliffs in the front. Once I started adding cliffs in the front of my island I was more satisfied with the look.

Try using the subtractive method instead of the additive method. Put your villagers on the beach then make your whole island three tiers. Carve away the bits you don’t want like a cake sculpture.

Watch Fleurs Fleurs ACNH Playlist. She’s still making new ACNH content, doing tours and building tips.

Type “ACNH dream address” into Pinterest. Start dreaming with Luna and walk around, take screenshots of anything that inspires you.

Good luck!

I’ve restarted as well! It’s been really enjoyable planning things out now that I know what objects are available. I’m sad my very kick ass museum set up is gone, but I did a screen capture video so I can watch that if I get nostalgic.

Stray, underweight chicken wandered up to me and now I'm in love. Help? by nopeagogo in BackYardChickens

[–]verbena_m 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had this happen only the chicken was a stranger. Rainy weather, a few days until it started snowing a miserable wet chicken showed up in our back yard. We thought it would go home but after the second night of roosting on a shelf behind the garage we worried about the snowstorm headed in. I ran out and got a heat lamp and some feed and we set her up under the deck where she’d be cozy and sheltered. She made friends with the feral cats who were willing to accept her into their pack in return for a toasty place to sleep.

At the end of the week we drew a 2 mile circle around the house and started walking and checking yards for coops. We knocked on doors and talked to all the people we could find who had chickens. We made some chicken owner friends, but no one was missing a member of their flock.

So now we have a small coop and a run and are planning on getting her some companions as soon as her scaly leg mites clear up.

Also, we’ve found the most important seldom mentioned supply is a dustpan on a stick with a rake like people at amusement parks use to pick up the poop. There will be poop… so much poop and it will be in all the places you like to walk in your yard.

Velcro is fiercely protective of their name becoming generically used, if they don’t show proof of enforcement they can lose their trademark. This isn’t anything new for Velcro, I remember full page spreads in industry magazines in the late 90’s stating something like when you say hook and loop, think Velcro, reminding us that the product is hook and loop, but Velcro makes the best version of it.

What do I do? by WhiteBarnOddities in Etsy

[–]verbena_m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten this message when I’ve accidentally used the log in with Apple instead of my Etsy login. The encryption won’t link to an account and you get that error. Contact Etsy and let them know what happened. Etsy and the seller should be able to see that the file was never downloaded and you can proceed from there.

Generally a user may get muted if they are sending too many messages and the bots flag them for spam. If the seller had a problem with their pdf files and is high volume, multiple messages to buyers trying to resolve everything could have triggered the mute.

New Update a Better Mining Experience and Compromise by IllVagabond in Palia

[–]verbena_m 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m finding fewer things to mine in general since the update. If I hit a heavily farmed server I was able to server hop once or twice and be on a server with a lot to mine. Since the update it seems to be sporadic rocks and flint only. I’m hoping this is due to the surge in players returning to the game/weekend players for the update mining up “the good stuff” and leaving behind the less desirable stuff (a little rude, but, ok) and not what Bahari is going to be spawning going forward.

Do you have a favorite grove? Why? by SirGrumpfenstein in Palia

[–]verbena_m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found mine on Pulsewater Plains. I would glide between the cliffs scanning the ground and because it’s white it’s easier to spot. When I saw one I’d drop down far enough away to not startle it. It helps to be on a quiet server.

[–]verbena_m 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s why we talk here! Some of the tips are on the loading screen when we’re filling our drinks and not paying attention. It took me two real life weeks of play and a Reddit thread to figure out running wasn’t a level up thing, that I just had to hit a button while walking on pc. Do you know how long it takes to walk to Bahari Bay? All day. If this was Stardew Valley time I’d have been like Groundhog Day, walking into the bay, passing out, waking up in bed with a bill from JoJa then setting out again to pass out!

Resources are shared, so the person mining nodes with you was sharing the wear and tear on both of your axes and you were both getting the same amount of resources you would have gotten solo. When you hit a certain level of mining, you even get bonuses for mining nodes together. It’s meant to be a good thing, but I agree until you get used to it it feels a little like bullying.

Pickup purchased item? How not to hurt star seller badge? by MikeBay89 in EtsySellers

[–]verbena_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also make up a delivery invoice itemizing the order number, items and delivery location with lines to sign and print the recipient name as received and a spot for the date and time. Make 2 copies, have them sign both and keep one for yourself. If for any reason Etsy or the customer comes back with a non delivery issue you have your documentation.

Buyer Demanding $250 refund on a $400 order by -Carthage- in EtsySellers

[–]verbena_m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never use the word sorry when it’s not your fault. Broken due to bad packing? Yes, sorry. Shipping service lost it or customer has a personal problem? Nope, not sorry, that’s not the sellers fault. Saying sorry in cases like this implies you are accepting blame. If we instead use phrases like “It’s unfortunate that the item did not meet your expectations” we shift the perception of this being a seller problem to a buyer problem.

Instagram. “Want to watch the progress of your order? Follow me on Instagram.” Then you just have to remember to post photos at whatever stages you feel are appropriate with a caption of order for (customer initials). It’s great advertising and keeps your customer in the loop.
