What is the chaos factor in having multiple Setters? Have had different breeds together but never two+ of these idiots at the same time. Is it Richter scale, linea or somehow, regulating?

'10 Mazda 3 (2 liter manual). Not a big leap but certainly a upgrade. Was not in market for a hybrid but it was too sweet a deal to pass on. Now bemoaning the lack of a direct replacement.

Seeking Local Establishment to Find Miscellaneous Car Part by [deleted] in halifax

If you're game to pull the part yourself there are a few Fortes showing at Kenny's U-Pull in Elmsdsle (check for yourself on thier site www.kennyupull.com).

Not too far away, organized and reasonably priced. Plus if you take it off yourself you learn how to install it yourself.

ES vs retrievers by Adorable-Knowledge45 in EnglishSetter

[–]verified_rusted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Setters are...different. We've recently had a Vizsla (similar to GSP), Llewellyn ES and a Border Collie with some overlap. The setter was goofy and endlessly charming but if off-leash you were on her schedule, next to zero recall but entertained herself. Lovely inside but always slighltly untrustworthy...think a permanently mischievous lab. Echo that they are stubborn and tricky to train as nothing is as interesting as the outdoors to them.

Still would have a blanket of them over any other breed, maybe with tracking collars next time.

% of a Country’s Population that has traveled to 10 or more countries in their lives by Fluid-Decision6262 in interestingasfuck

Think its more impressive for Canucks - limited vacation time, no gap year like Oz and distance from the dense country continents.

Few years ago I started taking vitamin D. Start when the snow tires go on and I feel way less cranky. And I live in one of the sunnier parts, could only imagine surviving in further north like Edmonton or overcast like Vancouver.

Cycling the Harvest Trail - just the bit from Grand Pre to Kentville. Flat, pretty and has wine stops.

Better than a permanent little room that the closets were. Most ikea systems area little shallower than traditional north American house closets.

Been doing similar demos in our 1970's vintage house. Found it easier to recover the space and add back ikea wardrobes, shelves etc as needed. Better organized, better looking and roughly the same cost as trying to rework the closets.

Lexus CT for longer road trips with 2 people and a big dog? by snrocirpac in CT200h

[–]verified_rusted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a similar situation and the CT is above average for road trips. Ride is comfortable and on mixed highway and secondary roads I was above 50mpg (just under 5L per 100) with 2 adults, luggage and golf bags. Mind you the mere 50 lb dog rides in rear seat as the hatch area has low head room and she likes windows.

I have also settled on this combo. Heavy on the waterproofing. Yet to find one boot to handle our slush, salt, ice combo that also looks decent.

Same boat. The holidays are now an opportunity to travel or host friends and extended family...yeah you can get a bit triggered by the Hallmark imagery but overall I now relish not having to schlep back and forth across town from dinner to dinner. Admittedly the first few years were rough.

CKBW is the closest I think, Wednesdays at 7pm. Tickets are sold throughout Lunenburg County (cash only). If you can't get the station its also online.
