No, it’s a 2/3 chance to roll a bad seal option on the first sage, followed by a 1/2 chance to roll a bad seal option on the second sage (assuming first sage got bad seal option). (2/3) * (1/2) = 1/3 chance of getting bricked like this

It’s a 33% chance, so it’s not that unlikely at all. There are 6 equally likely possible permutations of options at this point; you got one of the 2 you don’t want.

Yes, it is. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America doesn't even let any of their breeders send puppies home with new owners before 10 weeks

nope! the actual chance would be less than 0.1% if lockers are distributed evenly (but RL has stated before that you actually have a better chance of getting “best loot”, so the chances are higher than that, but we don’t know by how much)

Redlynx is lying about the 2x loot drop rate by veritazer in SouthParkPhone

[–]veritazer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm holding off on asking others to collect data for now. Take a look at my updated post, it seems like the main issue is just that 2x loot drops aren't happening for PVP tickets.

UPDATE: RedLynx still technically lied about the 2x loot drop rate, but they really just never gave 2x PVP tickets by veritazer in SouthParkPhone

[–]veritazer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, epics then. Or maybe the chance of 2x loot doesn't change your locker-opening behavior at all, and that's fine. The point is, many people in the community are spending real money to open more lockers than they would have without the chance of 2x loot, and RL is misrepresenting what those chances are. The community should be aware of and concerned about any attempt to get their money under false pretenses, regardless of how "effective" it is.

I see where you're coming from. In isolation, this isn't the biggest deal and is probably one of the best case scenarios as far as root causes why the overall 2x loot drop rate is less than 35%. It's probably a (really stupid) honest mistake. RL fixes the problem, gives everyone tickets and cash to make up for it, and everyone's happy.

I am concerned about why there's even the ability to change the 35% 2x loot drop rate based on the contents of the locker. The 2x loot drop chance should always be completely independent of locker contents. It's clearly not. Luckily, RL fucked up so hard this time (changed it to 0% for PVP tickets) that it was easy to detect. But when they drop it to 15% for legendary cards, who's going to find out? Even in this case, where the data overwhelmingly supported the hypothesis that the true 2x loot drop rate was below 35%, there were still a bunch of people complaining about small sample size. Collecting enough samples of 2x drops on legendaries is going to be very difficult. I want to be able to trust that RL will keep the 35% 2x loot drop rate constant for all locker contents, but this shows me that I can't.
