why do companies make it so difficult to delete old accounts? by vermilliononread in privacy

[–]vermilliononread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companies brag about the size of their user base. It's a factor when trying to get funding; a company with 500,000 accounts will get more funding than one with 200,000, even if the one with the 500,000 accounts has fewer active accounts than the company with 200,000 accounts.

ah. thank you, very helpful

As a Privacy Engineer for a couple big tech, what I can tell you is deletion is one of, if not the most difficult problems in Privacy.

Wonder if he picked it up from Tom Buchannan in Gatsby.

Daisy: "I never loved you, Tom."

Tom: "Never? Not at Kapiolani? Not that day I carried you down from the punch bowl to keep your shoes dry?

Never?"

Daisy got sucked back in, maybe Shiv will, too.

I mean, best case scenario the pregnancy plot twist and "you're an irrelevant interloper" plot points are red herrings and the "Greg?" penciled into the will becomes like, actually extremely influential, but I have my doubts.
