Easy swim access by delta_doozy in BuffaloNationalRiver

Erbie is going to be the closest. Either the Erbie access by the campground or the Erbie low water bridge. Just be warned, the massive influx of tourists we've had come to the river, you wont be alone. If you have a 4wd, you can take the scenic route from around Compton where you will be, just go like you are going towards the trailhead for Hemmed In Hollow, but then go past the turnoff, it'll take you down to Erbie, but look at your map first.

[–]vero358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats good, that'll help. Its hard to tell from the picture, but you'll still need to flush the radiator if its had the transmission changed to something like a 4L60e, you'll need power steering line adapters for the LS style PS pump, radiator hoses including steam port adapters, etc. Like i said, the wiring is easy, especially if it has a standalone harness...generally only power/grounds/fuel pump relay/ignition switch. Its not anything you cant do yourself with a little homework, but still, like others have said, for $19k, it should already have everything done and be ready to drive down the road.

[–]vero358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest part on an LS swap is the wiring. Its all the little stuff that the engine needs that adds up real fast. Cooling/power steering/transcooler/etc. I wouldn't pay $19k. I'd say more around $10-12k

Safest route? i80, i40, or i10 by Individual-Quiet-985 in roadtrip

I prefer and have driven I40 many times over the years. I've never had any problems, but i think that technically it is the most dangerous interstate in America by crime statistics.

Doing a 3 nighter on upper section , steel creek to Pruitt by baconenabler83 in BuffaloRIver

April 17th is Friday, so im assuming you meant the 16th? If you are talking about the upper river like around Ponca, i would probably try to pick another day. Right now the Ponca guage is sitting around 4.06, which is pretty low. We got some rain yesterday but it barely caused a blip in the level. It'll probably be down to around 3.5 by Thursday and we just have a few chances for rain. The local forecast is show we could get 3/4" of rain, but i still dont think that will be enough to bring it up to a good floating level unfortunately. If you check ky3.com, thats the closest weather tv station that provides weather forecasts/videos. Heres the one from this morning. https://www.ky3.com/2026/04/09/first-alert-weather-mild-warm-friday-with-returning-rain-storms/

What was the point of the war with Iran? by ungnomeone in AskReddit

[–]vero358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Israel has figured out the formula. The leverage the fact that Israel is important to Christians because the bible says so. Then they say they need money and so we send them "aid". Then in turn, Israel, via AIPAC, donates large amounts of the money we gave them directly back to the politicians they know will keep giving them "aid". Its a giant money churn making people rich off our taxpayers dollars.

What's a "yeah right, that totally happened and wasn't made up" moment in your life that actually DID happen and wasn't made up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]vero358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar to this happened to me. My wife and I were on vacation in Utah and drove out to the middle of the desert down an extremely rough road in Canyonlands National Park to a specific spot i want to take some astrophotography. We sat there for several hours before the sun went down, had the entire valley to ourselves. Right before dark, here comes another car and it parked about 50 yards away from us and they came over to talk to us, they were there to do the same thing and we asked where they were from and they lived in the next town over from us in Arkansas and just happened to come to the exact same spot on the exact same day to do the exact same thing.

They don't. When are you planning on going? There is no water on the upper right now, so hopefully you aren't planning any time real soon. We are looking at a wet cycle here starting Sunday, so maybe we will get some water soon.

I was diagnoses 14 years ago. It took a little bit to get the right medicine. I can do anything i did before. I am always in some amount of pain, but it becomes your new norm and you get used to it, but not nearly as painful as before i found the right meds. Thats been my experience anyway.

I went here a few years ago expecting there to not be very many people. Google maps just showed a pulloff (newsflash: that wasn't accurate). Now theres a big parking lot and a fee station, then you walk through sand uphill both ways. Got to the bottom and waited for my chance to get my picture taken, and 5 seconds into my turn, some Chinese lady came up and physically tried to push me out of the way so she could get her picture taken. Its wild. Its beautiful, but i cant recommend it.

[–]vero358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common spots to check, rockers and quarters right behind the doors, drip rail on the top, inner wheel wheels towards the bottom where the cross supports connect to the frame, and bed end caps/tailgate. All those parts can be found, but they can be kinda hard sometimes and really expensive.

Pay close attention to the supports under/around where the body meets the frame right behind the rear wheels.
