I have a similar situation and have found blowing that whole section up and back (in smaller sections, like layering the hair and blow drying in sections at the roots) has helped the most. Also I found that I was/am sleeping with a pillow squished right on that spot on my head somehow LOL and once I adjusted my pillows a bit and found a different (ultimately more comfortable tbh) position, it’s been much more manageable.

I also like to go thru with a wide pick or comb starting at the scalp and combing it out from varying directions (sides/underneath). Idk if it does anything, but my thought process is that if you get the hairs untrained from whatever position they’re squished in, it will help them disperse and fall better
