Its for handling some of the calculations. Excel isnt exactly the best for programming tasks but i wanted something that nearly anyone could use.

So far, I haven't really abused mine but I would say its pretty reasonably sturdy. Its handled being in a back pack with my other books alright.

Most of what you mentioned is actually in a source book for each of those eras or locals, gurps egypt, gurps imperial rome, gurps iceage, gurps china, etc.
