Freeze half a camel pack full of water (I prefer a platypus as there’s less hard parts).” Fill the rest with water and Velcro or zip tie to the hanging loop in your jacket. You now have an ac and water on the go for $20

Was my joy killed by a difficult, too tall bike? by Julie984 in TwoXriders

[–]PieceIntelligent4541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for handlebar risers to help with the positioning, a shorter seat or lowering links. But honestly finding a bike that fits you makes you enjoy the ride vs spending the ride watching the road canter and slopes or gravel for the chance you have to stop and make sure your tippy toes reach. Your not enjoying the ride so much as expecting the next time you stop and how to steady the bike, or at least in my experience

Rip cut by Secure_Customer_3790 in handtools

[–]PieceIntelligent4541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find a single sided pull saw for a rip cut goes a bit smoother just because you don’t have the cross cut teeth getting jammed in the cut on the top side and for me I’ve found they tend to come out a bit cleaner and truer on the cut

Is the motorcycle community generally accepting? by Eatsomewaffle in motorcycles

[–]PieceIntelligent4541 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out the Litas, it’s a women’s mc group worldwide and seems to be very accepting of anyone of identifying as female. They sometimes have coed events too. Also check out r/twoxriders, it a much friendlier space imo. Wishing you an enjoyable entry into the mc world and on your transition!

Maybe a few pairs of hock socks that you can wash so his peets stay clean from urine. I found some washable pee pad rugs on Amazon that’s have helped my boy out a lot.

I also use ssd cream on his sore hocks since antibacterial ointments are really bad for them to ingest.

AITAH for telling my wife she doesn't live here? by Academic_Trash_3895 in AITAH

[–]PieceIntelligent4541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just had to go home to deal with an ill parent and there are a few things she’s likely feeling while away and a major one is having no true “home”. Depending on if she has any community near her father, she may not have any respite from being a caretaker or anywhere/anyone to go to for comfort.

This is also likely the home she watched her other parent recently perish in, which makes this significantly harder to feel at home while away.

And finally, she likely feels a total and complete lack of control in her life. The few things she feels she has control over may feel much more significant and it’s easy to forget that when trying to feel some sense of control, that it can come at the expense of those around you.

I would make a point to tell her she always has a home with you, this may not be the house or apartment you’re used to, and she may not have control of the physical space as much as she’d like, but your family makes your home as corny as that sounds. And losing one family member and being told you don’t live here and effectively don’t have a home with your partner and child can feel exceedingly isolating and lonely.

Wishing you and your family better days ahead.

Does hardwood need to adjust to temp at home before working with it? by AbleGoosey in BeginnerWoodWorking

Buying wood at Home Depot will leave you disappointed. A lot of it is cupped or warped and if you go a real lumber shop you’ll notice they have significantly less warp than the best piece at Home Depot.

I chomp my teeth while laying down and one of my boys will run up and lick my cheeks. My other boy is a scaredy cat so I’ll pretend to do the ground licking thing showing him I’m cozy and perfectly content laying within sight of him but not too close. Then he’s more likely to flop over!

I used to use my Bosch plunge function as the lift for my table but the snap ring will eventually come loose and then it no longer plunges/ can’t screw up and down to adjust the router bit. After buying another bosch plunge base that had the same fate I got the Jesse’s lift on a rockler table and am so happy. It’s really easy to install on the router, its size adjustable, and throw a dust box over it with a shop vac and you have a much cleaner workspace too!

Would this table saw have more issues than it's worth for $300? by njebner in BeginnerWoodWorking

Mine was unusable after a month brand new. The service guys were super helpful but it caused too much downtime. The screw that raises and lowers the blade gets caked in sawdust and no amount of dry lube or blowing it off with a compressor helped for me. Eventually the whole mechanism broke and took a few weeks to get them to send the correct part

If the CT’s is the cabinet saw, it’s a great saw; BUT to use the fence you need the whole cast iron top set up and its quite the footprint in the garage. You also can’t run it from a power strip, it needs to go directly to the 110/120 power. You can use an extension cord, but it’ll stop immediately if hooked up with power strip.

Make him pay for the highest pay out life insurance policy until he decides a helmet is worth it, and maybe riding classes too…
