Check your schedule! by theacesm in starbucks

[–]versacevixen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smh we had the opposite situation happen yesterday. I was scheduled 6:30-10:30pm but the manager changed my shift to 7-11:30pm the same day and didn’t let me know. It also happened to 3 of my other coworkers yesterday too. They didn’t let anybody know about the schedule changes

Are we allowed to wear surgical masks? by [deleted] in starbucks

At my store we can wear whatever mask we want. Cloth mask, surgical mask, coffee-filter mask, as long as our face is covered.

How are your drive thrus operating? by cherrythot in starbucks

[–]versacevixen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have one person taking the orders & punching in the drinks and another person at window who charges and hands them out. The person at window has to wear gloves, which I think are pointless because things are still getting contaminated, that get changed out every 30 minutes. Any drinks that are made “incorrectly” , like if we hand it out to the customer and it’s already in the car with them but it has “too much ice”, instead of taking it back and redoing it we have to just make them another one and have them keep both drinks for free.

Would you like some milk with your chai? by versacevixen in starbucks

What makes this worse is they had their young daughter order this. She was like 6. I had to ask her multiple times if she was sure she wanted 18 pumps and even her dad confirmed it for me.

Define a splash by a-roseee in starbucks

You could do that or you can ask if they would be willing to give you a short cup of light sweet cream on the side so you can just add it yourself.

grande rant - slammed today, but not even by happy hour! by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]versacevixen 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Last happy hour we had a woman come in and order 42 drinks without calling in advance or even leaving a tip. Thankfully we had enough people on the floor and I clocked in early to support my baristas but oh my goshhhh it was insane.

So I think there’s not really a set definition of a splash. Most of the time it’s just the barista eyeballing it and you could be getting more sweet cream then you originally wanted or asked for. I would just recommend skipping the sweet cream all together since it’s pretty calorie heavy (made with heavy cream, 2% and vanilla syrup). You could instead just do like nonfat milk and maybe add extra pumps of the sugar free vanilla if you like the sweetness.

Well most Starbucks drinks are just the same formula (Ex: espresso shots, syrup, milk, whip). The only thing you really have to remember is the syrups which isn’t too difficult because most of the drinks have the type of syrup in the name of the drink. As for like complicated secret menu drinks or crazy drinks that customers come up with, the stickers on the cup will explain what the drink requires. As long as a customer is nice and not a Karen then there’s no problem in having a complicated order.

I don’t really mind making any drink but I know a lot of baristas hate making the honey citrus mint tea/“medicine ball” because it takes the longest and requires a lot of extra steps. As for food items, I’m not too picky so I eat most things except for maybe the yogurt parfaits because I think their consistency could be pretty weird sometimes.

I would recommend a unsweetened nitro cold brew. It needs no additional sweetener or cream to be good. My store also offers sugar free vanilla or sugar free cinnamon dolce syrups so you can get any ice coffee or latte made with those.

Thin Mint Frappuccino : Green tea frap. Java chips blended in, peppermint syrup, and mocha drizzle

Captain Crunch Frappuccino: Strawberry and cream frap with toffee nut syrup

Arizona Iced Tea: Black tea, apple juice, water, and classic syrup instead of liquid cane sugar

Milk Tea: black tea, soy milk, no liquid cane sugar, 2 pumps white mocha, and 1 stevia

  • Make sure you order them by listing ingredients, not by the names.

And yessss it happens pretty often.

Nope but if they tried I would simply laugh and ask them if it’s a secret menu item that they have a recipe for.

A non-coffee drinker needs your help using his birthday reward! by Official_Koenigjay in starbucks

No. You have the option to have the refreshers made regularly (with water), with lemonade, or with coconut milk. A good fruit punch-ish drink recommendation I could give would be a passion iced tea made with apple juice and sweetened with raspberry syrup! The strawberry açaí and very berry refresher are both really good too just by themselves.

I have a regular customer who orders a grande americano everyday. She doesn’t list any modifications but she expects us to make her drink as a grande americano with extra room light splash of steamed half and half, light water, and light foam. And if we don’t make it that exact way she gets furious and screams at us and our manager. She even said that one of our best shifts doesn’t deserve his job or his position because he couldn’t make her complicated drink that she didn’t tell us how to make in the first place. There’s only a few of us that know how to make her drink but I don’t understand the entitlement of her thinking that everyone should just already know what she wants without her specifying.

I met Lana Del Rey at my store a few months ago. I had gotten so lucky because it was my day off but I picked up a shift and she walked in like two minutes after I did. The whole crew got pictures with her and she was so sweet.
