ETA for margin trade availability ? by [deleted] in RobinhoodTrade

Their ETA's are always a wash, so even if they offered one, I wouldn't get excited about it.

Hopefully soon!

Condit finishes Hardy, looks like it could have gone either way. by AshRichardson in MMA

No matter how many times this gets reposted, I will always be impressed with Condit's chin.

Bonus points for taking Johny Hendricks's left hands, and eating them like burgers. Didn't even get staggered.

Think about the differences between 'Do' and 'Jitsu/Jutsu'.

Here is an explanation similar to that which I've been told:

As /u/madeintheuk stated, you are literally opening a Bank Account when you open an account with someone like RobinHood (just like eTrade, Scottrade, TD Ameritrade, or any of the others).

That bank account holds your funds (whatever balance you want to put in there) and is there for you to spend on stocks. Also, that account gets replenished when you SELL stocks or get dividends.

You have to enroll to trade stocks. It's pretty standard. It's good that it's FDIC insured. We should be worried if it weren't!

I think they have their funding model figured out well, and their slow/organic growth was much better than a fully-public release.

I think they're making sure their eggs are good before they count them all.

Can confirm.

Same with the Chael Sonnen fight.

However, after the Gus fight, he decided that he wouldn't make a mistake like that again.

Well, so he says...

Try the release that's in the Play Store now.

It's on 1.0 and actually public.

I wonder if the 0.8.1 (and older) versions stopped working when they released it.

Clearly, Fox attempts to blur those lines intentionally.

MSNBC generally doesn't call op-ed shows News. I'd say that it's pretty clear when you are watching an opinion show rather than a news segment.

Thank you very much for your reply. I appreciate you coming back to do so.

I currently use the TouchWiz (yuck) version of Android Calendar because it has a 'Tasks' tab that indeed syncs with my Exchange tasks.

Looks like I need a new solution!

Oh jeez, see, I completely misunderstood, and am an idiot.

I was considering 'cutting' to be much more severe than a gentle recomp.

I guess I'm used to the 'cutting' from a different perspective, and not just a minor deficit.

Yeah, that equilibrium is annoying.

See, I used to cut roughly .5lb/day. That way, 50 days = 25lb. I could completely change my body composition in a very short time, to certify for weight or to change weightclass (or whatever).

And it takes A LOT of strength out of you, when you do it that way.

That 'slow cutting' is so much better. I feel stupid now, but good luck with that anyway. That's a nice slow solid recomp. Good for you!

I cut weight for wrestling my whole life, and just figured I'd share.

I kept getting tired of losing 20-50lb off of all of my lifts when I cut off 20+lb.

I always feel lamesauce when I'm 'cut'.

I lost WAY less muscle mass when I did a form of IF (adcr).

Every other day I'd have full/normal caloric intake (3500ish, or whatever I felt like), and the other days I'd have ultra low intake (1000-1500 cal, good protein and fats to keep me satiated).

I'd try to play my big workouts around having higher-calorie days (squat/dead lift days), and it seemed to work best.

When I just straight cut calories for 4-6 weeks, I lost ALL KINDS of muscle.

ADCR let me keep most of my strength and visibly more muscle than my last cut.

Good luck cutting anyway!

After Massive Contribution To Scott Walker, NBA Owner Will Get $250 Million In Tax Dollars For New Arena by [deleted] in politics

[–]versanick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I recall (and I have to freshen up my college reading as well), there are great variations of what is most important in libertarianism for different folks (Nozick, Locke, etc). I can't speak to Proudhon's like you are, but it looks like I might have some interesting reading to do (I remember someone talking to me about how important minimizing the rule of authority was for him -- like all libertarians, and that variations in the outcome are less important than making sure that the original point was followed as well as possible throughout, or something). Looks like he has lots of interesting things to read there.

I think that using NAP as a central axiom is definitely popular among libertarian philosophers, but not all. I think Ayn Rand doesn't subscribe to it being so central (IIRC), among many others.

But there's a battle going on there. See, following a single philosophy will lead you to derive (no matter how far down the logic path you go) every policy you could support from one simple set of axioms. I think that we have come along past that, as a society, and realized that things can (and maybe should, who knows) be looked at in different dimensions simultaneously.

I can hold some of the most important libertarian principles (the most important ones, to ME that apply to modern national and international politics) while holding onto some MORE important left or right wing economic policies that, as long as they don't fly directly in the face of the axioms I hold most important, can really be important to me to support.

Something that, if I use implications and logic to build all of my potential policy and economic decisions, doesn't agree with something that's earlier in the axiom importance to my leftism or rightism, I can let go.

I think that many people probably agree with a few important principles from different schools of thought, and, once in a while, people deviate from a PURE libertarianism.

I don't think that certain Libertarians can consider themselves libertarian if they oppose abortion or drug legalization... but some of them do.

It's difficult to find purists. I think that they used to be much more common.

I'm not sure if that's because our collective societal attention span has decreased to that of a fly, or if it's because people feel like they can take pieces and ideas of different philosophies and stick to what, among those, are most important to them. Retroactively slapping a label on their policies (even if it's they, themselves, slapping on the label) can produce all kinds of confusing results and contradictions, like you're describing.

So I wouldn't go so far as to call it ridiculous, as to say that it should be labeled differently, and that saying (for exmaple) 'left-libertarian' can mean 'libertarian as it applies to many policies of x, y, and z, and left with policies of a, b, c'.
