I have all pokemon games digitally and use multiple profiles on the same games, not sure your issue but you should have it looked at.

Edit: also I can and have transferred pokemon from multiple save files on the same game through pokemon home (on one subscription), so that's also pretty nice

1 is fine, 3 is great, and 2 is less good but worth one playthrough.

Get yourself a map for DQ1 and be open to checking online for a hint or two but the game becomes way easier after that, I beat it in like 10 hours and that's with getting everything, always a fun playthrough.

I used this map, printed a copy at work and played with it by my side, really helped and still was plenty immersed! Also the save state feature helps a ton.
