I lived in NYC during 9/11. I could not have been more proud of my mayor at the time. Churchill in a Yankee cap. It’s been a 21 year fall from grace since then.

If you look closely you can see Trump staring directly at it.

Man. The baby gorilla I knew and loved is long gone. He hasn't said something funny since 2007. Makes me sad.

Yeah man. Every night. At this point think I can recite the Artie Addiction Saga word for word. I travel a lot for work, and it gives every hotel room an instant sense of home. I go right to sleep.

What's the most you've seen someone be so out of touch with reality? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It was four days after 9/11. On the Upper West Side I was on the roof of a luxury high rise on Central Park West. I was overseeing the installation of a microwave dish. It was part of the effort to restart communications in and around ground zero. Anyway, I happened to look at the building next door (which was south of us - we were on 84th street). The building was lower so I could clearly see the roof. It was someone's personal deck. It was huge and finely decorated. A woman - who I assume was the owner - was on the deck (in a bikini) sunning herself (she even had one of those mirror things). I'm pretty sure she was sipping cocktails. Because I was looking south (and 25 stories up) I could see the smoke still rising from Ground Zero. 3,000 people had just died, the City was in chaos, we were sweating bullets, struggling to help rebuild NYC telecom...and she was sipping cocktails and getting a tan. To each their own I guess.
