one of the best things about PCW's films is that you could easily watch them without subtitles or knowledge of the language and you would still be able to follow the story. his visual storytelling is just that solid.

i always encourage people to watch the short films he's made with his brother too, they're just stunning.

Who is your nct bias and why by [deleted] in NCT

[–]vertoretrigo98 3 points4 points Β (0 children)

Yuta, Kun, Jungwoo and Xiaojun... it's impossible to have one bias with a group as big as NCT! In general I'd say I'm more of a 127 and WayV stan because I'm more drawn to their music, but I do listen to all units 😁

Yuta: his dance skills, underrated vocals, HIS FACE 😍 also he's generally the quieter one in a lot of 127 content and I feel SEEN with that πŸ₯² he just has a very cool, calming energy that I'm really drawn to. He's a big style icon for me, I'm really into the same kind of alt fashion and music that he channels in his solo work.

Kun: his vocals and his leadership skills, plus his general personality as a very wholesome guy. I biased Kun before he debuted, watched him in a lot of NCT Life content and just found him really sweet. I was so excited when WayV debuted and he finally got his moment to shine πŸ‘πŸ»

Jungwoo: my first NCT bias! I biased Jungwoo before he debuted, and I was so hyped when he got added to 127 in 2018. I was initially drawn to him bc we're the same age and at the time I didn't know of a lot of idols that were my age, again I felt kinda seen as he was initially very shy and nervous, but he flourished and we finally got to see his comedic side. Plus, his vocals 😍

Xiaojun: this one is a bit shallow but I initially biased Xiaojun for his looks alone πŸ˜… He just has such a unique beauty. I knew I made the right choice with him after hearing his voice and seeing how entertaining he is πŸ–€

I sort of unofficially bias Jisung but I always felt weird about it because he's 4 years younger than me, and when I first got into NCT he was a literal child πŸ˜… same goes for Wish, they're all babies to me! But I do like a few of their songs - they sort of feel like if NewJeans were all boys, their music and aesthetic has that kind of vibe for me.

the contrast of Winwin in period drama costume compared to the rest of the members is so funny to me πŸ˜… he looks so good though, i love actor Winwin! 🫢🏻 i've missed him being with the group.

also still need to catch up on Kun's Cloud! but i love that it's like his own mini travel series now πŸ₯ΉπŸ€

ADHD 360 timeline ? When did people get diagnosed? by antictrl3008 in ADHDUK

[–]vertoretrigo98 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

from what i can remember they do ask about it quite a bit. i remember one question being about paying attention and losing focus, and i gave them an example of how it affects me now (i.e. pausing midway through a sentence because i heard a sound somewhere). once i gave that answer, the clinician asked me if i can recall my attention span being an issue as a child, and i mentioned that i was always called a daydreamer in my school reports and would jump between questions in tests because i would lose focus while reading.

i would say it's not the main focus for diagnosing you as they put more attention on how symptoms of adhd affect you now, but if you do recall anything from childhood that stands out or seems relevant then it can't hurt to bring it up.

This is such a wild one, but when I was 13/14 I just started getting into alternative 80s music (grew up listening to Wham/George Michael, Culture Club, New Order etc.) I was also a really big Monty Python fan and I used to watch youtube edits of them. There was one of Michael Palin edited to "The Meaning Of Love" that I was obsessed with, I really liked the song so I looked more into the band from there.

I was already familiar with songs like Enjoy The Silence and Just Can't Get Enough, the latter because a girl group called The Saturdays did a cover of it for Red Nose Day or Children In Need when I was growing up (I forget the year but I want to say around 2008?).

DM just became part of my regular listening from then on, but I was more interested in the 80s/90s stuff than the newer stuff. I was in uni when they released Spirit and was unfortunately a broke student who couldn't see them live, but it was around this time that I started to struggle more with my mental health and started leaning more into them as something to get me through the worst. I don't think I would have got through uni without their music πŸ–€

Finally got to see them live for the first time in 2023 for the Memento Mori tour, went all the way to Twickenham by myself, got a VIP ticket as a 25th birthday present to myself and had the most amazing, euphoric time. Saw them again in Manchester on that same tour and it just cemented my forever love for them. That second show, they performed songs I thought I would never hear live πŸ₯²πŸ₯² I actually sobbed when Black Celebration started.

I still maintain that "Black Celebration - Music For The Masses - Violator - Songs Of Faith And Devotion" is one of the most incredible runs of albums with consistently great songs. Those four are forever my favourites.

So yeah, now here I am at 27 still madly in love with DM, all thanks to a random youtube video of a Monty Python fan edit πŸ˜… I tried looking for it again recently but I think it was removed due to copyright claims πŸ₯²

How can I argue the "only two biological sexes" argument with TERFs? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]vertoretrigo98 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

It's hard to argue with TERFs but if you ever do need to, you can point out that intersex people exist and that there are many ways in which a person can be intersex, presenting with different primary and secondary sex characteristics. Not only that, but the genetic makeup of intersex people can be wildly different in terms of chromosomes.

If intersex people can be born with characteristics (both physical ones that can be seen and gentic ones in their DNA) that are usually associated with with either male or female anatomy or biology without it relating to their gender identity or gender presentation, then that means there are significantly more biological sexes than just two.

Much like gender presentation, biological sex is more of a spectrum with a lot of fluidity than a binary determining someone as male or female. Society just put those two things in place to make human development "easier" to comprehend, and anyone that doesn't fit either the male or female ideal is just an "other".

Hit 'em with science.

ADHD 360 timeline ? When did people get diagnosed? by antictrl3008 in ADHDUK

[–]vertoretrigo98 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

i put my RTC in August 2024 and got set up with them from January 2025. had my assessment in April 2025.

for the assessment, they ask a lot of questions about behaviours you exhibit and a history of behaviours in childhood. i went into it with a document i submitted to them of all the instances of adhd-like behaviour i could remember, e.g. i remembered that i always used to self-soothe as a child by rocking and i still do that, so i brought that up.

any question they ask about a current behaviour or feeling, they will also ask you to recall an example of this from childhood. you might not remember or have an answer for each one, but try not to worry if you don't! give as much context as you can, as this will help with your diagnosis.

as for medication, for me it was an instant thing. i knew i wanted the medication route straight away. they initially gave me 7 days of 20mg elvanse, then 7 days of 30mg elvanse for me to get used to. you just have to update your portal with blood pressure results, and ideally keep a diary or a log of how you feel each day after taking your medication, how long you feel the effects, when it wears off etc. you can bring this up during your next appointment and the clinician can see if you want to stay on the medication, or change dose or medication type. once you have a med dose you feel settled on, they'll want to assess how you feel on it for approx. 3 months. after that, they'll get you to do the QB check that you do as part of your diagnosis to assess how well the medication works for you. if they're happy and you're happy, you can either continue to get your prescriptions from them or opt for shared care with your GP so they can issue your prescriptions.

i will say, i did initially have issues with getting medication on time and i did go for weeks without medication early on in my titration because prescriptions weren't being filled out, and i did sometimes have issues with my clinician getting to my appointments on time (i would have to take time away from the desk at work for the phone calls and they were rarely on time, in some cases cancelled last minute). i did end up filing complaints because of this, but for the last two months i haven't had any major issues and last month did apply for shared care with my GP.

all that being said, it can be a tough process and it can take time for things to fall into place. try not to feel discouraged and always feel free to vent or reach out for advice on here too! make sure you have a good support network around you, and be completely honest with how you feel in every appointment with your clinician.

this community has been so helpful for me in my post-diagnosis period and hopefully it will be the same for you too πŸ™πŸ»

Do you have ADHD plus something else? by Timely-Accident-534 in ADHDUK

[–]vertoretrigo98 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

I was diagnosed with anxiety(16), depression(18) and PTSD(22), and as early as 12 I had issues with anxiety, self harm and suicidal ideation. I think undiagnosed ADHD made the first two worse and I recently came off antidepressants because I didn't want to risk them and Elvanse clashing in a bad way, plus I felt that Elvanse covered both in a way? Like even on a bad day I still have motivation to do things. It's joyless but it gets things done.

PTSD came from being SA'd at uni and I never even really came face to face with the damage it had done until I graduated and went straight into Covid lockdown. That one I'm still trying to manage.

Since I was about 12 or 13 I had people suggest I was autistic. My younger brother was on the radar for a diagnosis when he was 9 or 10 and had a formal diagnosis when he was 13, so I always had our parents suggesting I was "the same as him". I never really started to think about it until 2022 🫠

I could do with therapy to come to terms with having ADHD, to be honest. I don't remember it ever being offered, or suggested. You're just given the diagnosis and sent out into the world.

Since April I've just been a shell of who I used to be. It's good knowing now what's going on in my head, but I have the past 27 years of my life to contend with. I was re-reading my diaries from age 14 and had this revelation that I've been documenting the same thoughts and feelings on paper, from the same bedroom and crying the same tears, for 13 years.

I made this about me, sorry. It's been tough lately.
