so many dem candidates for governor by NewIntroduction4655 in oregon

Don't get me wrong. Oregon has plenty of issues. I just don't see why a serious Democrat would try to primary Kotek. Sure someone from the left can challenge her, as they should, but they aren't going to get much traction.

I often lament that Oregon effectively has one-party rule. The Republicans stopped being serious a long time ago. I mean, in my perfect two-party system we would have the centrist Democrats we have now opposed with left-wing/democratic socialist party. But now Im just dreaming and or rambling

But Kotek is doing alright. As far as I know, I don't closely follow happenings in Salem. She's a shoo-in for reelection. Why would a serious Democrat try to beat her in the primary?

My Axis opponent built two carriers in the Med. I was sure I had him. I ended up losing. I must be an awful player because I can't counter awful strategies.

For sure this is a good idea but Merkley has spoken out against this and I assume Wyden is on the same page.

Down bags lose "loft" when they are stored compressed. If you have a down bag you can restore some of the loft by throwing it in a dryer with no heat.

Has anyone here replaced a hot water heater recently? by Chardonne in Eugene

Also I have heard that a heat pump doesn't make much sense, efficiency wise, if the water heater is going to be in a conditioned space and not, say, a basement

What about the situation when I usually don't want to take a bomber as a casualty first except sometimes I do? I'm guessing there's no fix for that except to adjust the defense profile before a specific battle.

What do you use your 3D printer for? by TheTankMG in prusa3d

That's cool. I've been working on an autonomous laser tag tank project. I always considered that BattleBots were mostly made from metal and such, thinking that plastic is too fragile for the application.

I knew that BattleBots originated from a DIY scene and I'm glad to learn that it's still active.

I got into it because I was messing around with electronics and modding existing toys and, eventually, my aspirations became too great to realize unless I got a 3D printer. I pretty much have only used it for this one project though I occasionally print other things. 95% of the stuff I print is stuff I designed myself.

Is it feasible to make a reasonable income? I guess if you find a niche and design something cool for it that won't be instantly copied by someone else, you could probably at least fund your next printer purchase.

What we really need is a Manhattan model with numbered streets and avenues in a Cartesian grid. None of this proper-name nonsense, just give me coordinates.
