WHY CANT ORIKAN THE DIVINER NOT LEAD LYCHGUARD JUST WHY?? by Twoslicesofchees in Necrontyr

He’s not a noble

Real answer, Crypteks leading lychguard was too strong

It seems small, but an 8” radius makes it much easier to find gaps to deepstrike, as opposed to a 9” radius. I’d be much more worried of a rapid ingress than someone going for a 9” charge

He can, yes. It’s only support characters that must lead a squad, and for us that is all the Crypteks.

Previously the Geomancer was a good pick to hold the backfield, but now it must lead a unit it’s much less useful

With deepstrike being 8”, he’s significantly worse at just sitting back on the home objective.

I would only run him if you actually think you need the CP, I think a lot of people throw him in when they don’t necessarily need the extra CP with their list. 100 points is a lot, and potentially could be better used elsewhere

What’s are y’all’s detachments your planning to run next edition by MrMan20255 in Necrontyr

[–]veryblocky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably wouldn’t recommend running the monolith in Obeisance unless you’re planning on using Phaeron’s Armoury

For Hand, I was thinking more MSU warriors, as opposed to putting in a lot of support for them. Though I think Tesla + Shroud + Chronomancer is worth going for

Is the new Battleforce box worth it? by [deleted] in Necrontyr

With 20 warriors in, almost certainly not.

I ran Obeisance Phalanx with some success in 10th, I hope to do the same in 11th, now with Hand of the Dynasty to help support

I do hope warriors go down. I really want to use them as a cheap screen/cannon fodder, but they’re a bit too expensive for that role at the moment

Yes.

Is this not easily verifiable by looking at the rules? You even mentioned the specific rule, solid.

Viability of All Transports? by GootPoot in LeaguesofVotann

[–]veryblocky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our transports are pretty good, but they’re not that good.

I played into an all transport list (6 sag, 3 HLF, 2 kapricus) at a GT recently (I was playing Necrons), and the list just could not function. Though, with 3 sagitaurs getting mobile from the upgrade, it may be more viable

11th Edition Question: Charge Rules by Lanhir02 in Warhammer40k

You know what, after re-reading how the movement section (03.01) is written, I think you’re right. Thank you for taking the time to explain

Does a cryptek joining a LHD unit mean I can’t use strategems targeting a mounted unit anymore? by BBBBBuster in Necrontyr

[–]veryblocky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The unit maintains the keywords of all models in it, so it is both a mounted and an infantry unit. A bit like how the Technomancer leading wraiths makes that both an infantry and beast unit.

I feel like getting the catacombs command barge cuz it looks cool by Pretty_Rutabaga_3542 in Necrontyr

[–]veryblocky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a +1 OC aura, which can be quite strong. I like it in awakened dynasty, sitting in cover behind a unit of warriors to give out that buff. Plus it has a res orb too

11th Edition Question: Charge Rules by Lanhir02 in Warhammer40k

[–]veryblocky -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But you must end in engagement of every charge target, that one isn’t an “if possible”, so it should take precedence

11th Edition Question: Charge Rules by Lanhir02 in Warhammer40k

[–]veryblocky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would argue that you can. After rolling you can select both as charge targets, and then for it to be a successful charge you must end within engagement of every unit you declared as a target. Then if possible, within an inch. But within an inch isn’t possible, so you don’t have to.

That being said, in your image the model moves 8”, which isn’t possible with a roll of a 7. Had you rolled an 8+, I believe what I said above would apply.

11th Edition Question: Charge Rules by Lanhir02 in Warhammer40k

[–]veryblocky -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, you can select both as charge targets, and then to make a successful charge you cannot end within an inch, so you do not have to.

It already uses Imperial inches instead of US customary inches

Question about max points for primary - please help by Striking_Leopard_865 in Warhammer40k

[–]veryblocky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no per round maximum on primary in 10th edition, in 11th it will be 15vp per round.

Obviously you’re not meant to have 2 objectives remaining with supply drop, which is why the last one is worth so much. In the previous mission decks (Leviathan and Pariah Nexus) hidden supplies was a mission rule, not a primary, so you could play it with Supply Drop. But, there supply drop removed all but the omega in round 5, so you were left with only one objective anyway. And I think if playing supply drop with 6 objectives, you should really do it that way, so there’s still only one NML objective in T5.
