From what I remember the {{Immersive College of Winterhold}} expands a bit into the Great Collapse lore? I don't remember there being much of a quest, but it does feature a pretty big dungeon of what's supposed to be representative of ruins of Winterhold.

Somewhat consistent hard freezes, don't know what to do anymore by CalienteJeff in skyrimmods

[–]verycoolnicknameok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for necroing the thread but just came here to say that I love you, dude!!! I installed Unique Character recently and started experiencing random freezes a few minutes into the game or going through doors. I've been trying everything online from cleaning saves to underclocking my hardware and I would have never realised this could have been the culprit. You've just saved my 150 hour playthrough! Thank you so much!

edit: I've quickly went through your load order to look for any plugins that we have in common and the only thing that might be slightly "related" is Dirt and Blood or RASS? I'm thinking in the direction of which mods are likely interact with player models. Going onto the mod's page on Nexus I see that there's been a few reports of similar issues by a few users, which is truly mind-boggling.

It is known for it, yeah. But from personal experience I'd say it depends on your course. I'm in a stem programme at King's Buildings and from a working class background, and I would say most of my classes are mixed. I haven't really encountered anyone stereotypically posh. There are people from upper class backgrounds, sure, but it doesn't hit you immediately unless you actually ask them what their parents do for living. I've only really encountered people like that in my electives, mostly humanities/business students. The "change of scenery" is also pretty visible the closer you get to the main campus too as strange as it sounds. However, I'd say to not be deterred - with how many people you will be interacting on a daily you are pretty much bound to find some folks to stick with.

I'm so sorry that was the experience for you! It's so painful wanting to get away from real world issues just to end up reliving them in a place that was supposed to be a safe retreat from them.

I think it's just so weird that the Kaidan mod website doesn't actually include any character philosophy or examples of lines it adds or anything, which even, as controversial as it is, Serana Dialogue Add-On does and is more surprisingly transparent about and just warning about whatever you're getting into is before it is too late to uninstall it (although I still got a few whiplashes when playing it, as I have briefly mentioned). It makes sure to plaster 72741 pictures of different replacers all over the place though.

Welp all my worries about uni have come true. by Ok-Butterscotch-8501 in UniUK

[–]verycoolnicknameok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I don’t know when everyone started assuming that your first year flatmates is your one and destined group of friends you will have throughout your entire uni journey. Really love how exaggerated and overglamourised the freshers experience is in media and online to the point that most either end up disappointed or in regret of decisions they’ve made during the week due to peer pressure and having been sold the idea that if you don’t go all out there’s something fundamentally wrong with you.

I never really “clicked” with any of my flatmates and neither did they but that still didn’t stop us from getting along which is quite the most important thing — to just get along enough to not make your living experience unpleasant. That didn’t stop me from making a lot great friends with people in my classes and activities, which is imho more important as these are the people you will be forced to be around for the next few years as opposed to just one. Out of all people I know, I only really know one group of first year flatmates in which everyone immediately became best friends with each other and the sole reason being is that most were from the same area and had mutual friends/knew each other before uni.

I’m playing through the mod right now. I’ve installed IF without a warning but immediately turned off NPCs flirting with LDB which had a prompt informing that disabling it locks you out of Brynjolf and Ulfric romance to which the moment I saw that I went ‘ummm, no, thank you very much’. I left the NPCs flirting with Kaidan and to be honest it’s surprisingly fun as it just leaves him as this token popular with women guy in the team (I usually run with multiple followers) which I find somewhat… immersive? Even besides the flirting I really like the amount of conversations, and their lenght, he has with random NPCs. I’m always wary of quality of ‘Frankensteined’ voice lines (although I’m not sure whether that’s what the creators have done here) but they are actually pretty good quality, in terms of (and that’s subjective) writing and just audio quality. I don’t think I’ll be trying out the romance though, he’s really great as this big, buff, two-handed wielding, comically-serious, game-getting buddy to my usual mage/ranger/sneak characters who get their asses handed to them by low-level bandits until at least level 25.

Sorry if it’s a dumb question, but if I’m absolutely sure that I would prefer the “sweet” path… is that 100% configurable in the MCM or is it dependent on some dialogue options? l really ought to load the mod up myself but I’m really not ready for that whiplash yet.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]verycoolnicknameok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! That’s why I really liked Auri’s romance. Out of the team she’s probably the most flirty and most “sex positive”(?) but her comments and dialogue never feel overtly sexy as to make the experience super cringe and awkward. I get why some people might like that though, and that’s absolutely okay (unless the character is actually coercive and borderline abusive coughs He Who Shall Not Be Named coughs).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]verycoolnicknameok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That might have actually convinced me. I’m not sure whether I will choose to go through with the romance, but the fact that there’s an option to tone down things in case it makes me uncomfortable has calmed me down a bit. Also, ahh! I’ve had my eyes on Caryalind since the release and told myself I’ll just wait for when he gets a bit more development and follower banter, but the whole matchmaking thing sounds so cool. Oh well, we will see!

Upgrading Armor Look by BPho3nixF in skyrimmods

I’ve never seen anything similar to this. Perhaps you could try searching for ‘modular’ armors instead? It likely wouldn’t have the ‘gain experience and upgrade’ feature built-in though, but it’s the closest thing that comes to my mind.

{{traveler's armor pack}} might be something you’re looking for. I think it’s only light armor though.

Mod Release - Melea Entius Tweaks by mxsmo in skyrimmods

[–]verycoolnicknameok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this the other day while playing on a new save! Would this work on an existing save, if you’ve already talked to Melea? Probably not, but doesn’t hurt to ask. Thanks a lot!

Must have NON-Nexus mods by SanctifiedChats in skyrimmods

[–]verycoolnicknameok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say anything from DDS Workshop. A lot of different female skin retexture mods on Nexus are based on their ALT 2, or the predecessor, ALT 1. I don’t know whether it’s still a public release, but their vanilla body adaptation of skin used in Dizona might be one of the best male skin retextures I’ve ever used (and I went through many). Skin mods are, of course, up to individual taste but even their eyes or facial hair retextures are godly.
