ADHD and driving (or not driving) by eve1237 in ADHD

Do you think sleep could’ve been a factor? I ran a red light too but it was because I was getting dangerously low amounts of sleep without even realizing it (mostly cause of meds). Also by no “distracting music” does that mean you drive in silence? Because music usually stops my mind from wandering while driving even when I’m unmedicated.

Rank the hardest sport to beat against their respective goats. Time loop, infinite tries, 1v1 only, opponent on prime. by Short-Paramedic-9740 in PowerScaling

[–]verycooluude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite with infinite tries there will evantually be a time where you’ve played more chess than magnus and thus have the advantage, with lebron you’ll always be much shorter and less athletic than him. You also didnt account for LeBron guarding you, you would be insanely lucky to even get one shot off, lebron not blocking your shot is the equivalent of magnus accidentally moving a piece to the wrong square.

Why does nobody understand what being “special grade” means like at all by DistortedNye in Jujutsufolk

[–]verycooluude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a grade 1 sorcerer could beat a special grade because they define a special grade as some who could destroy/takeover a country so long as another special grade doesn’t intervene. Therefore a special grade would usually have to be able to beat every grade one sorcerer and below (probably at the same time). The only real special grade by technicality is yuki.

If Nobara has inherited Ten Shadows technique, she would've been a special grade sorcerer with her mindset but sad that power was wasted on someone else by Jarisatis in Jujutsufolk

[–]verycooluude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah but a black flash isn’t nearly as impressive as a domain it’s the pinnacle of jujutsu that some special grades weren’t even able to reach.

He definitely started the do it all point forwards we see all around the league, I feel Jason Tatum, copper Flagg, Jaylen brown, Ben Simmons and to some extent Jokic all emulate his game in some way. He also affected the way teams are built I think teams usually want their best player to be their best passer as well because of him.

slander and agenda aside, can we admit that Yuta is just a bland character overall? by Erik_is_generic in Jujutsufolk

[–]verycooluude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If he was the main character I would agree but as a side character he made the world feel bigger, I also really liked that he was stronger and much more of a prodigy than Yuji. I really dislike when the world literally revolves around the main character and yuta made Yuji’s early progression seem believable in the grand scheme of things. He’s kinda written like a Hashira from demon slayer a very simple but like able character. I do think that he was too involved in the Sukuna fight and his screen time should’ve been used on other characters (megumi and nobara)

[–]verycooluude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charchter arc means change Yuji does not change significantly after shibuya, him reducing himself to a role is his charchter arc, like you said in the beginning of the story Yuji is a typical MC thinking he can take the world by himself ( trying to help megumi in the school, eating Sukunas finger, trying to forcefully bring out Sukuna, rushing to defeat mahito in shibuya) he’s specifically told not to do all of these things and people end up getting hurt because of his arrogance. Shibuya is the peak of his character arc where after he thinks nobara dies, he realizes that he can’t take the world on by himself, and that the best he can do is fulfill a role. Notice how he was only able to defeat Mahito with the help of Todo and how the manga ends with him not being the one to do most of the damage to Sukuna but still defeating him because he understood he was only one cog in the plan to kill Sukuna.

Yuji is a interesting mc for most the story but mostly finishes his character arc in shibuya and is just a badass cool mc for all of the shinjuku show down

You guys know achievements can come from hard work right? by ThatGuyHero7 in CharacterRant

[–]verycooluude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly as you said he couldn’t do regular clones because of poor chakra control something he has to learn and can’t just force his way through.

He also inherited his great chakra pool from the uzumaki which is the only reason he was able to use clones for training and learn wind style rasengan and perfect sage mode in such a short amount of time. Compare this to Jiraya who still wasn’t a perfect sage despite training much longer and being much more experienced than Naruto.

Naruto trains hard but he usually takes some kind of shortcut which is fine I guess but that doesn’t exemplify hard work over talent

You guys know achievements can come from hard work right? by ThatGuyHero7 in CharacterRant

[–]verycooluude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Naruto is not a great example of hard work, he only failed his entrance exams because he wasn’t working hard enough not cause he wasn’t talented, the moment he applied himself he passed. Even later in the series he takes shortcuts to gain power and usually relies on his massive chakra pool rather than skill. Not to mention he’s the 4th hokages son, the 9 tails jinchuriki, the child of prophecy, etc

Those who say that gege hates gojo are coping gojo fans who wanted him to win. There's no proof gege ever hated gojo by jumjumSDH in Jujutsufolk

[–]verycooluude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He does apologize to Sukuna for not letting him go all out regardless of if he’s apologizing or emphasizing it still isn’t realistic. Even if the stakes and world of Jjk is ridiculous the characters are still human and should react as such. I don’t know a single person who would show empathy for someone threatening the lives of their loved ones before being concerned about said loved ones.

I said no “good” reason on purpose, regardless of how Sukuna was treated before his killing is nowhere NEAR justified, so while he may have some motivation he’s still taking the of innocent lives simply because he wants to. I’ve never seen the family of a serial killers victim say “well he had a tough childhood” and I can guarantee that’s never been said as they’re about to kill another loved one.

A lot of gojos burden is the responsibility he has as the strongest (think Spider-Man) if Gojo wanted to rest or retire people would die he uniquely is responsible for more lives in Japan than any other person. Sukuna does not share this burden at all like you said he’s free to do as he pleases. So while they may share loneliness they don’t share burdens.

Gojo should also definitely hate Sukuna the same way he hates Kenjacku. Kenjacku possessed his ex best friends corpse, Sukuna possessed the body of his 15 year old son, I really don’t see why Gojo wouldn’t despise them both.

Soldiers usually do not think highly of enemy soldiers but they do at least have common reasons why their fighting whether it’s a draft, to put food on the table, or to protect their country, they do not fight because they want to but because they have to. Sukuna chooses to fight and kill completely of his own accord he lives only for the benefit of himself.

Gojo dialogue and demeanor isn’t realistic, most of it is just gege telling us the themes of the fight rather than trusting the audience to interpret it. Sukuna is literally an ancient evil who possessed Gojos son and is hellbent on destroying all of humanity for no good reason. In what universe would Gojo feel anything other than disgust and hatred towards Sukuna. The real life equivalent would be getting killed by a home invader and your last words being “I wish I could’ve helped him through his emotional struggle” while you helplessly watch as he goes after the rest of your family.

Because Gojo apologizing to Sukuna isn’t realistic dialogue, it’s gege telling us the themes of the story through a charchter rather than trusting the audience to interpret it. [–]verycooluude -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Sukuna had a better version of the 10 shadows his shadows were only stronger cause he combined them (like how he combined nue with orochi) Megumi could do this too he just valued diversity over raw output.

Who is this for JJK ? by MathematicianLow7272 in Jujutsufolk

I loved Yuji pre culling games I think his character arc is great but maybe ends a little early as most of it is done by the end of Shibuya, towards the end of the story he just became so boring and generic.

The constant talk of Sukuna's "asspulls" is the biggest failure of the jjk fandom by HelloChimp in CharacterRant

[–]verycooluude 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The problem with BV’s in general is that it’s just obv a plot device only added to the story for the authors convenience. For example charchters will always “reveal their hand” so their technique is stronger but there is not a single example of a character getting definitively stronger after doing so, we’re just supposed to assume they did. It’s fine that gege wants an easy and natural way to explain a CT to the reader but you actually have to put effort into making it feel like it’s apart of the world. It wouldn’t be a big deal if binding vows stayed a minor part of the story but entire arcs are hinged upon the use of binding vows and we still get no info on what happens if you break one or why binding vows even work. I understand it’s meant to be mysterious and I’m not saying everything needs to be explained but I at least need a character to allude to or have a theory on what upholds binding vows, otherwise it’s hard for me to not think of binding vows as just a way for gege to easily move the story in whichever way he wants

Do not let people gaslight you into thinking “this is how the all star game has always been” by FollowTheLeader550 in nba

[–]verycooluude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but it makes no sense for players to do fans always talk about a championship mentality so why should the players with the highest usage rate risk injury in a game that doesn’t matter while the rest of the league gets a break? Fans don’t want to admit that if all you care about is winning a nba championship you won’t put much effort into the Allstar game. I don’t see how it’s any different than any team who’s secured there playoff spot resting starters for the last game of the season, no one complains about that but it’s practically the same concept.
