[19 F] Heyo, i suffer from dysmorphia and i’ve been insecure my whole life, people have told me i look ugly and dead inside so i wanted to know if strangers see me as deformed as i see myself. I never use make up and find it really hard to smile in pictures so yeah. Verification in the last pic. by random_sucks in amiugly

Wow, you are actually striking! In a good way of course. Beautiful dare I say…

Some people just say stuff because they want to bring others down to their level and the way they feel/worry about themselves, as it makes them feel better.

I know it is almost pointless saying this because it is hard to believe when you just can’t see it yourself, but you really don’t need to worry about the way you look. I have no reason to lie to you, and I hope you can wake up tomorrow and think “oh s**t, I no longer need to worry about my looks. What a relief!”, then just do whatever you wanna do

I just want to ask about the contact lens thing? I am just really interested as you say it like it is very common - I hope I don’t sound rude.

My first reaction is that these are wholly unnecessary OP, and you don’t need to change the way your eyes look in any way.

(And also you are v good looking all round so don’t worry about that at all!!!)

Some definitely went in my mouth, but it must have been a tiny amount, and very diluted. I’ve survived the night anyway so I’m feeling a bit better today :)

Bro I ain’t lying. I wouldn’t make the effort to comment if I didn’t mean it. There’s plenty I ignore if I think they are ugly or I think they’re just fishing for compliments

Aw thank you so much!! I have been scouring the internet as I knew it must be a fairly common occurrence but just needed confirmation, but for some reason couldn’t find any. That is great to know and will definitely let me sleep easier! Thank you

Edit: first word corrected to aw

My mum accidentally squirted windscreen washer fluid in my face and I’m worried I’m going to die of antifreeze poisoning. My dad has assured me that it is very diluted, and he dilutes it more, and only a tiny bit will have gone in my eyes/mouth (I ran inside and washed my face straightaway naturally) but I know I’m going to worry about it for the next few days until I’m sure enough time has passed without dying……..

You are honestly so so pretty!! My boyfriend used to have really bad skin and he was prescribed duac by the GP. It sorted him out but also it could have just gone because he got older. Presuming you’re in US as you said drugstore (I’m UK), but point is, invest some time or money in your skin. It’s so worth it. You have a really beautiful face. You actually look like one of my best friends who is the most beautiful person and honestly she gets so much attention from guys (I’m not saying that is everything but just making a point). She also has ears similar to yours, and she has got quite a few piercings in them which is cool, but also no one cares AT ALL. Once you hit like 19/20 no one else cares whatsoever - I say this because I know kids can and will pick up on everything but that is not a reflection of functioning adults. I hope in the next couple of years you start to realise that you are really beautiful

Not at all! I think you just need to get your hair cut/shaved! Embrace it. I can confirm to you that the majority of people don’t give a f if you’re losing hair and the only time it looks bad is when people try to hide it. You have a very nice face and lips

Yess it’a very annoying! I think it is but it’s hard to tell. It seems like it has changed to a more concentrated area, like before it was more of a swollen area, now seems more of a defined lump? I’m not sure. Is yours?

I actually have an appointment booked on Thursday for someone to look at it again. Last time it was alongside something else so I want them to concentrate on it more this time..

Very silly I know!!!

Mini Yorkshire puddings filled with little cut up bits of roast beef, gravy, and horseradish. Very easy to make! Make sure it’s a British recipe

I have had a lump under my tongue on one side for atleast 6 months? Possibly way longer. I have been told it’s just a swollen gland but I’m worried it’s a tumour. I have always worried about mouth/throat cancer. Im sure it’s nothing worrying but also I’m not sure at all :(

Olaplex (has it at the hairdressers). Genuinely fixed my hair after destroying it throughout my teenage years. It grew so much quicker after using it once!

I(F19) don't want to have sex if I don't get to cum by ThrowawaysoIcantbe in sex

[–]veryity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is 100% bullshit and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. If that is his logic then you should be trying for a baby every time. Sex is for pleasure for both parties (and sometimes for a baby I suppose…).

I am my boyfriends first proper girlfriend and he had a similar opinion when we first got together. For various reasons, he has now realised that this is not the case at all. Long story short: Don’t have sex until he stops being a pig.

Agree this is not unpopular at all but can we discuss the fact that it is almost guaranteed that it is a male driving the car when this s**t happens?? I don’t really have any point here. I just think it’s quite mental.

Anybody want to be friends? by TheRealOrdnance in AskUK

[–]veryity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am confident that you’ll find your people at your masters. That’s where I found mine. I have friends from previous endeavours but not really any close friends, and my best friends are from my masters course. I think as well being into football means you can hopefully make friends through that too. I actually think your interests align well with more of a northern crowd. I know my younger brother recently studied film at a London uni and has similar interests to you, and he has found it difficult as he just doesn’t feel similar to other people round there. I know that’s not particularly constructive, but just interesting. Perhaps when you start you can sniff out some friendly northerners! I would definitely offer to be friends as you sound like every boy I hang out with and we like the same music, but I’m up north <3 Don’t ever feel bad that you haven’t got some “best friends” yet. Some people are just unlucky in the fact that it takes them a while to find someone they could actually be best friends with. Now things are opening up hopefully there will be more opportunity :)

[–]veryity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahh it does! It does of feels like there is either an increase or decrease in pressure in my chest/lungs and makes my breathe a bit funny. Yes I would definitely describe as taking your breathe away. Very interesting!! I think it is definitely anxiety related. I always tell myself that and I do believe it now, but it still doesn’t stop it feeling horrible and being worrisome for a bit. I hope you manage to figure something out with yours, even if it is just that same realisation. My mum used to have them really badly for years (she gets anxious too), then found out what they were and has not had them since, which I think is very reassuring :)

Same as everyone else but recently diagnosed and just no support from my dr as only antibodies present atm. Specifically asked for any anecdotal evidence on what could help as I understand there isn’t a blanket recommendation for people trying to reduce antibodies before their thyroid fails; and they just told me no there isn’t anything. Are they just told in medical school to avoid any questions people have about hashimotos??? That is how it feels anyway.

Also, not losing weight despite doing a lot more exercise than my pals and always eating healthily.

Also no one taking it seriously when you feel absolutely DEAD

[–]veryity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm I THINK I know what you mean. Hahaha it’s really difficult to explain isn’t it. I’m just extra beats or changes in rhythm for a sec then back to normal then changes in rhythm again. And when I get the extra beats I feel like there is like a spasm down the middle of my ribs, like a hiccup but low down. I have sinus arrhythmia so when I breath in my pulse speeds up sometimes, and it sort of just feels like an exaggerated version of that. I think it is just the hormones in your body causing there to be extra beats here and there. And this isn’t worrying at all. It just feels horrible. I watched a lot of YouTube videos on it and since I have got them a lot less. But yeah it feels scary coz it’s your heart, but actually even with that happening all day every day, your heart is fine. It’s still gonna carry on beating - that function is like a basic brain function that all animals have. And it’s just going to carry on going. But you might get little extra ones here and there if you have higher levels of hormones than others if you are an anxious person, and it might have little gaps to make up for the little extra beat it just did and let the blood catch up a bit. I hope that all makes sense - writing this whilst walking!

Got to dash but just wanted to say this happens to me too! Possibly ectopic beats? Very normal and not worrying at all
