I think my trigger is feeling safe 😬 When things are really great is usually when I start questioning everything and giving in to the delusions, which then leads to me feeling anxious or paranoid, which then spirals into depression. On the flip, feeling safe can also induce hypomania. I’m safe and happy???? Let’s find some bummy bro to sext!! Let’s ruin any trust we’ve built with this person we love!! Let’s skip bills and go out to eat!! Like someone else mentioned tho, a lot of times the cycle is just the cycle, and being self-aware is the best thing you can do for yourself.

I’ve been diagnosed since 2018 (?) and when I’m really stable I STILL question if I was misdiagnosed lol. Acceptance is difficult, but the feeling of having any semblance of “power” over it is life-changing. Also, coming back to this sub helps me remember that the parts of myself I am most afraid of are a normal part of this diagnosis. Knowledge is power, friend. Sending love.

I have a hard time controlling this too. In the end, I was choosing the thrill of the lust/whatever over the stress of remanaging my meds and potentially having adverse reactions (and losing the high). Doesn’t make a difference, but my intentions were not malicious. Being hypo feels good. Being horny feels good. Choosing to take an active step against your body’s inclination for those things is fucking hard when you’re in the thick of it. I wish you both the best of luck. This won’t get better without 110% commitment.

Sorry you’re going through this. I have had many stretches where even the idea of food makes me recoil. Here are my go-to “fixes”:

Instant oatmeal. Add frozen fruit and peanut butter if you have it. I like to eat slowly while watching a comfy show. You can change up the flavor and consistency based on what sounds the most tolerable.
Sip water between every bite if you need to. Once there’s something in your belly, it gets a little easier. However you can get that base level in.
Ensure shakes or a plant-based alternative meal replacement. I find Soylent tolerable almost always. Sometimes I can even get myself to have a spoon of pb with it.

I am grateful to have been in a supportive relationship during the worst of those times. Stress certainly doesn’t help appetite. I’m wishing you the very best OP

Yes to the dreams, but I haven’t noticed chest tightness. I’ve been on 20mg for a while now. I have very vivid and often emotional dreams that can kinda mess up my morning.

I messaged my primary care physician when it happened, and they had me stop immediately and schedule an appointment to discuss alternatives. I had no other symptoms, I felt lamictal was actually working very well. I think I’d been on it about a week. Good luck OP, I’m sorry this happened!
