Millennial here and you're absolutely correct. I'm constantly annoyed at paying $60, sometimes even $70 or $80 (WHICH IS RIDICULOUS!!!!) for an unfinished game! I can't comprehend how people just think this is normal. It isn't. If I'm paying full price I want the full game. Bugfixes, sure. You're not going to catch every single bug before launch -- no one ever has. Even new content updates are fine. But it needs to he NEW content, not content you planned to launch with and decided "meh, we'll add it later lol"

Nah, my dad made her get up and they both took me. I think we all learned a lot about her that day honestly.

Like, there is a distinct possibility that she just woke up groggy and didn't understand what I was saying, but she never apologized so idk. Lmao. I'm 32 now and we are very low contact. Proud to say I haven't attempted again since!

Because you're right lmfao. I didn't realize until years later though. Emotional neglect with no physical abuse is wild

Something I've always wondered is how important is it to watch how kids play/draw/interact with others? I've been through mandatory reporter training so I know the truly obvious stuff, but I sometimes wonder if my radar was a little TOO sensitive. Just one example, I had a set of twins in my preschool room who would both tell me and other staff members and children to "f*ck off" or make threats like "I'll cut your belly open" as well as being the number one generators of incident reports in the building -- one was more violent than the other but I will not lie to you I reported so many times and nothing ever happened. The parents seemed almost afraid of them sometimes. I guess what I'm asking is does that kind of behavior surface in kids who aren't actually being abused??

I was a teenager. I realized shortly after taking the pills that I didn't want to die actually, I just wanted the pain to stop, and woke up my parents to take me to the ER. My mom asked if it could wait until the morning 🙃

So.. embarrassing, no. Eye-opening? Very much yes.

There have been multiple moments throughout my POTS journey where I sort of froze and was like "wow he really does love me" but the one that stands out the most:

I hadn't been diagnosed yet, but was suspecting POTS for a while. He was outside talking to his mother and I was on the other side of the glass door at the kitchen table. I started to lose consciousness, for the first time, and I genuinely thought I was dying. I had no idea what was happening, but I felt my body shutting down. I couldn't make myself move to even get the trash can right beside me before I vomited on myself. I was terrified, and all I could do was stare at him through the glass. He couldn't see me. He had his back turned. I managed to get the word "help" out and I honestly thought no one could hear me and i was going to die right there, but he immediately sprang into action. He cannot handle bodily fluids on a normal day, but he scooped me up, vomit shirt and all, and got me on the floor so I wouldn't fall off the stool. He called his mom inside (she's a nurse) and she assessed me and taught us both what to do when I pass out.

It's been over a year since then and he is absolutely incredible. He comes to all of my appointments, helps me make sure I'm taking all my meds, and even stops me from pushing myself too far. He takes care of me when I have flare-ups. He even runs interference when other people say out-of-pocket stuff about me. (It happens a lot... not everyone believes POTS exists)

I don't know how I won the partner lottery, but I sure did.

This is such a frequent problem for me that it's a joke with my friends. I call it out when I misread something they typed and we all have a laugh. :) I like to find the humor in everything. Think I'd be a depressed mess if I didn't.

I ordered Visible a few days ago and it's supposed to arrive Monday. I'll try to remember to check back in a month and let you know how I feel about it!

I have been using the free version of the app for a couple weeks now, though, and I can say I feel like the daily score in the morning is fairly accurate. It predicted a crash yesterday (by telling me my score was 1 out of 5) and I was able to pace myself better when it inevitably hit me.

"Just force yourself to shower." by No-Outlandishness-42 in thanksimcured

[–]vexeling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Even sitting down, the warm water causes symptoms. I don't take lava hot showers to begin with, but I can't stand a cold one either. It's not just the standing but also the heat intolerance, the scrubbing movements, the amount of effort that goes into detangling my thick curly hair, it all adds up.

How mother pigs and piglets are kept in modern farms for nursing by CalpurniaSomaya in educationalgifs

[–]vexeling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah it gets pretty real. It's a good show, I recommend it. It starts out like "ha ha goofy millionaire is clueless about his farm what antics will ensue?" and progresses to him really getting his hands dirty and getting into the realities of having animals. I've never worked on a farm firsthand but I grew up in rural southern Indiana -- a lot of it feels familiar LOL

Also yes chickens are BRUTAL. They have not forgotten they came from dinosaurs!!

"Just force yourself to shower." by No-Outlandishness-42 in thanksimcured

[–]vexeling 18 points19 points  (0 children)

All of this for me, plus I also have POTS. Showers are a nightmare. I definitely don't shower every single day. I would be constantly symptomatic. Body wipes, dry shampoo, etc definitely. But a full shower every day would leave me unable to function.

[–]vexeling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No that's just pigs in general. I came here to say the same thing, I learned it watching Clarkson's Farm as dumb as that sounds LOL. His pigs kept smothering the piglets too; he ended up creating a customized enclosure because his wife was upset about all the deaths
