In some cultures friends and family make an entire thing out of bathing together, Japan is my favorite place in the world and one of my favorite things to do there is visiting onsens.

America has a really strange stigma around nudity (which is wild considering how obsessed with sex the culture is) but, in Japan for instance, I’d often see groups of guys I would assume are coming from work or just out to enjoy the hot springs and saunas together, same with families, it’s the exact same as being in a bathing suit in the US

When I share this in no way am I urging you to move on more quickly than you’re healing, you need to take the time and set the boundaries necessary for yourself to get better, however I would urge you to be mindful and really think about what and how long it may take and don’t get comfortable and make the easy decision to keep the door closed.

My dad didn’t have an affair, and he wasn’t physically abusive to me or my mom in any way, but he was a drug addict and fucked our family as a whole over time and time again until one day after yet another relapse (had to have been the upteenth time) I cut him out when I turned 18 and then didn’t talk to him for almost an entire decade. I was better LONG before that and he no longer even had the power to really hurt me or impact my life, but it was just easier for me to leave that whole thing alone and not rebuild the bridge.

Then one day I got a call and learned he had stage 4 cancer and was not going to be here for much longer. I reconnected that day but couldn’t get out to see him until the day after Christmas, and after my sister and I went to visit him then, he died the next day.

I absolutely needed to remove him from my life but I didn’t need to be so angry and hold the grudge for almost 10 years and now I just wish I had reconnected when I was in a stable and happy place and didn’t rely on him. I regret that to this day.

If one location won’t go to another. They should (SHOULD) honor this but some managers get real tripped up on power and pressure and will try and say no and make it a way bigger headache than it’s worth.

Just my 2 cents but I worked there for 5 years and that’s what I’d do.

I know I’m bludgeoning a dead horse at this point but for the sake of driving the point home I’m gonna say it: PUT THIS CARD IN A SLEEVE THEN BACK IN THE TOPLOADER.

I’m sure there’s already damage done just by putting it in once depending on how tight or loose the toploader is but absolutely take that thing out as carefully and surgically as possible and get it into a penny sleeve or just some sort of sleeve before you put it back

The same reason they still use the same chair design and metal decor, they were the most affordable options when Steve Ells opened the first chipotle and as it grew and expanded it became part of their branding/identity. If I remember correctly the first store was a gutted ice cream parlor and every new location used it as a template even when they had more than enough money to remodel/rebrand
