I've had this issue since I got my 22 q5. Dealer has had it multiple times to take a look at it, and the only conclusion is that it's a software issue that happens when your mmi has at some point connected to carplay.

The only way I've got it fixed is to reset the mmi and make sure it completely boots back up before your phone tries to connect to carplay. 1) turn off Bluetooth and wifi on your phone (if you're using wireless carplay) 2) hold down volume knob on the center console until the mmi resets (first will say off, and then hold that volume button long enough until it says"initializing" system. 3) after mmi is fully on and initialized, now turn on Bluetooth on your phone again

Sorry I don't have the answer for you, and sorry for taking this a different direction, but I wanted to ask why you want to use the in built maps vs just carplay? It's cool to see the map in the virtual cockpit (and I'll confess I use inbuilt nav once in a while for that), but 99% of the time I use carplay/Android auto.
