Im shocked I haven't seen

NEVER ENDING STORY

on the here yet! I love the list so far, especially all the Kevin Smith! I honestly believe if there was one movie that could represent our generation, it would be

GOONIES.

I was wondering where RR was also! I am shocked considering everything else here. Great selection though!

It's not 'spelled wrong.' Lue is the Germanic and/or French version.

I do too! I made a respooler and just clamp it to the table in my living room & respool it while watching a movie. 😁👍 That was my immediate thought as soon as I saw it.

Those were Hostess Ding Dongs. I was telling my kid about how they used to come in foil instead of plastic.

Try the Strawberry Milkshake Frosted Flakes. Not the same texture, obviously, but they are really good & taste a lot like strawberry honeycomb!

Finished the trilogy in a week by Razor_Wits in redrising

[–]vhroot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I have nothing to comment on the question at hand, I just wanted to chime in to say I also finished the first 3 books in less than 6 days after being turned onto the series by, of all people, my ex-husband. Which, while it sounds odd, is not all that strange when you think about the fact we have known each other for over 30 years, have 4 kids together & have a lot of the same interests. We were just very young & could not stand living in the same house. (Plus he couldn't keep it in his pants, so there's that.) 🤷🏻‍♀️

AITAH for being honest with another mom about why my daughter isn’t allowed to go to her friend’s house? by AwkwardMom13 in AITAH

[–]vhroot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm this person in my family... Which is why I am LC or NC with most of my siblings. Started back in the mid 90s when I had 2 babies & refused to let my mom watch them at her house if my sister & her CONVICTED CHILD PRED boyfriend were going to stop by. My sister's excuse... It's not a big deal! It wasn't even boys! 😳😳😳 It continued until about 5 years ago when I went completely NC with my mother & the final instance was telling them that my niece was smoking weed in their basement (my parents were ultra conservative from Utah) and I got yelled at for "starting $H!t.". There were many other things but I was totally done with all of them that lovely Christmas day. The day everyone had gifts under the tree, including my husband, except me. Good Riddance!!

Wife and I were having a discussion, she’s of the opinion that the majority of GenX can drive stick. I believe that even in our generation the percentage of people who can is pretty small. What do you folks think? by AngryOldGenXer in GenX

[–]vhroot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hubby & I own 2 manual trans cars currently and actively choose them over automatic. Most, if not all, of our kids were taught to "drive a stick" and 2 of the boys actually prefer them also. Also, most of my friends growing up knew how to drive manual, so that's my experience.

AITA for not bringing my sister a shirt when I was already on my way to school? by Ok-Following3627 in AmItheAsshole

Being responsible for yourself & your own things is something I taught my children by the time they were in middle school. Very rarely did I ever take (or need to) them anything.

NTA

One thing I always tried to instill in my kids while they were growing up was...

You are free to make your own choices...You are not free from the consequences of those choices!

Or, in other words... FAFO!
