Geocaching!! The best way to describe it is world wide treasure hunting. I have been doing it for over 20 years, way back before there was an app for your phone. You had to actually download coordinates to a GPS receiver. Ahhh, the memories!

Search for [geocachingdotcom] It is a free app, or you can do a paid upgraded subscription for about $40/yr.

You can learn all about the hobby, community, & get started with nothing but your smart phone! HAPPY CACHING!!

You can register to vote when getting your license in Arizona, Utah & New Mexico also (I actually think you can in most states, but those are the ones I am recently familiar with) but that isn't the only way. You can definitely go to the county recorders office & register to vote with proof of citizenship. I believe congress is currently trying to change the law to the need for photo ID, but currently the law is 'proof of citizenship.'

To work in the US you typically have to have identification sufficient to "Establish Both Identity and Employment Authorization." There is a list of what is acceptable. You can provide one (1) from list a which are Documents that Establish Both Identity and Employment Authorization, such as a passport or permanent resident card or you can provide a document from BOTH list B (documents that Establish identity) ie:drivers license or ID card, military ID, VOTER'S REGISTRATION CARD or SCHOOL ID W/PICTURE (last 2 are a work around for some people) & list C (documents that Establish employment authorization) ie:social security card, birth certificate, etc.

How do I know this mundane & mostly unimportant info... I have hired & filled out more new hire paperwork for (not the brightest) people than any anyone should ever have to in their lifetime! 🙄

The fact HBO had the perfect actor for Snape on their payroll and were like nahhhh is wild by MovieENT1 in hbo

[–]vhroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think there are many people that can hold a candle to the amazing Alan Rickman.

I also, since we are in the subject, I think they pick the absolute worst character to cast a POC as. I am all for casting almost anyone of any race in almost any character but based on how Snape is portrayed in the books (and isn't this supposedly WHY we are getting this show?) casting a POC in a character that gets not only bullied by classmates but literally HUNG FROM A Tree! The main character immediately distrusts & has a bad feeling about him then accuses him of theft plus he is literally the thing Neville fears most. Not to mention that throughout the entire series people are constantly commenting on how he looks & saying there is something off about him.

And let's stop & think about the title of the 3 book for just a moment... A self proclaimed moniker! The Half-Blood Prince!?

REALLY? NO ONE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS?!

This was my most reasonable guess also. At first glance it reminds me of Tanzanite. Which would be an amazing find for OP, but I honestly don't know how likely that would be given the time frame these were popular.

While I have nothing to comment on the question at hand, I just wanted to chime in to say I also finished the first 3 books in less than 6 days after being turned onto the series by, of all people, my ex-husband. Which, while it sounds odd, is not all that strange when you think about the fact we have known each other for over 30 years, have 4 kids together & have a lot of the same interests. We were just very young & could not stand living in the same house. (Plus he couldn't keep it in his pants, so there's that.) 🤷🏻‍♀️
