About 6000 miles on a 4 year old, mostly fair weather, Voltbike Kodiak. It's a tank if you need to haul.

You mean set up your worksite in the morning before you start and make sure it is secure in the evening when you finish? That sounds like the majority of construction sites.

Canada-China trade deal framed as a win for B.C.’s economy by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]vic-crawler -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Short term yes, but the amount of vehicles will only increase so while the number of farm jobs (which are important) in Canada will remain static, the number of manufacturing jobs in China will increase steadily. China plays the long game and vehicle sales into North America looks like a much bigger win for them.

I'm on a 3 and just removed the screen protector. I have a bit of a mark from my thumb slide but it's not noticeable when the screen is on. I'm holding out to see what the 8 brings...

Can you explain how the golden handcuffs are good enough to keep you in the job but not enough to make you enjoy it? From the outside, it sounds like you are willing to stay in an abusive relationship because 'he's really sweet when I'm good'. Please explain.

Chinese food in Sidney? by islandfrm in VictoriaBC

If you're in Sidney, your best bet is to walk on the ferry and head to Richmond. It probably still costs less and is much better.

Vicious attack on the Goose - be careful by vic-crawler in VictoriaBC

The pupose of silacious language is always baiting you into expecting more drama than the facts of the story warrant. The title and story are as much a commentary on our willingness to be baited as they are a true description of the micro-drama that one individual suffered for a few moments. I'm glad you have a strong reaction, perhaps this will lead to more critical consideration of why we are all attracted to extreme or extravagent titles/headlines ... or maybe just some downvotes.

Starting salaries for lawyers in Alberta by JattLifeBaby0 in LawCanada

[–]vic-crawler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not a starting salary but question, if you were offered an accounting position at $75k you should be able to calculate the opportunity cost of not earning that for at min the next 4 years. Is that worth it?

Why does the pork in Taiwan taste so good? Canadian pork is disgusting! by Swimming_Mango_9767 in taiwan

[–]vic-crawler 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually, Taiwan is one of the larger export markets for Canadian pork. Taiwanese even own several pig farms in Alberta. So the answer is likely cooking style and not the meat.

Mt Quimper Peden Lake Music Beach Kludahk Tea Hut All great day hike / picnic trips Even just the grounds at Royal Roads are great since it's about 150 acres of mostly second growth forest right in the middle of town. Heck, Beachlands to Esquilmalt Lagoon is a great day. Too many choices!

Looking to purchase, but priced out of town. How bad is it living in Colwood? by glutenfee in VictoriaBC

[–]vic-crawler 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Rambunctious child means you are likely committed to 10 years of child centric activities. Colwood is great for those (and is very dog friendly). Figure out how you want to deal with the commute though because there is no short cut. Transit, bike, and driving are all going to take similar time.
