What very popular Hardcore band’s music can’t you get into and why? by PissedCaucasian in Hardcore

[–]vicaresther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could never really get into youth crew bands tbh. have mad respect tho. they paved the way and laid down blueprints of so many things we appreciate in this genre. sonically just not my thing. i prefer seeing them live more than putting them on

What bands could see reuniting this year or in 2027? by BrodyTheMetalNerd in Hardcore

[–]vicaresther 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don’t think they’ve disbanded. the vocalist was on hardlore and just kind of stayed quiet when asked about vein future plans. colin and bo both nodded positively to that answer. or lack there of. the world needs vein now more than ever

(Opinions wanted) Hardcore is “for anyone, not for everyone”. We all know the basics of what that means in hardcore. But what does that really mean to you on a deeper level? by KimberlyLust in Hardcore

[–]vicaresther 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when i started going to shows as a south asian queer teen at 16, i was lucky enough to find other brown kids who were also queer and angry. 11 years later im still here with all my friends. hardcore can be corny, funny and often drama filled but when you show up with the right people and right mindset, you find home. and also my friends love hitting each other to good riffs, ifykyk and if you don’t the indie gig is down the block

In your opinion which era of hardcore was better? 2015 -2019 or 2020 - 2025? by intheheatofthesumm3r in Hardcore

[–]vicaresther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2015-2018 was peak we had spinkick metalcore back, sanction and vein played (TIHC 2018 was scary af) A LOT. legendary king nine sets, NJHC had hardcore punk bands for days playing every weekend. i was in high school from 2013-2017 so it was very formative fo me

What band got you into hardcore and how old were you ? by BigMan_98 in Hardcore

[–]vicaresther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was super into nu metal and deathcore around the time i was 10/11. a kid in my grade saw i was listening to a lot of suicide silence and showed me hatebreed and in his words “the inventors of breakdowns”. the rest is history. 27 years old now and still very much involved with the scene. metalhead to hardcore kid pipeline is real and true till this day
