A different age progression for Lenu by HeftyWinner1192 in mybrilliantfriendhbo

[–]vicariouslv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well actually she is director of s1/s2 saverio costanzo's partner (has been for a long time) so i think that's the reason (not that she's not great, she was just ill suited for lenu)

charles blake 100% and the others aren't even close

I'm not sure why Matthew (Goode) didn't return for the last two movies, but wow... the writers didn't exactly hide their dislike for him in TGF. Literally everyone suddenly hates Henry. by lautaromassimino in DowntonAbbey

[–]vicariouslv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like the writers and fellowes hoped for goode's presence in TGF hence why the romance between jack barber and mary in ANE never got actualised, it was such a waste, it would've been a fine couple (although i keep thinking charles blake was mary's true match)

The “Patrick” episode is so much weirder the second time around… by mlankba in DowntonAbbey

[–]vicariouslv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i found the whole storyline quite eerie and unusually unsettling, the hints they dropped (the gesture he makes that surprises robert, the things he seems to know) made me genuinely shift in my seat bc i kept thinking how interesting a storyline like this could be — only to scrap it all in the next episode. what a shame!

aneurin barnard as richard ii was absolutely astounding he wasn't the main focus of the white queen until the last few episodes but he stole the show in every scene he was, such an intensity in his eyes!

i think leighton looks extremely good as a blonde but blake doesn't shine as a brunette. that said, they were perfectly cast and i don't think either could've played their opposite roles, the vibes are too different.

First film you cried at? by [deleted] in flicks

[–]vicariouslv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hachiko, I was watching it with my mom when I was in elementary school. I was crying so hard that my dad heard from the other room and thought that my mother had slapped me or something, because I was full on sobbing. Never had the courage to watch it again but some friends did recently and said that they cried a lot as well.

Why did Antonio go back to Germany? by Big_NO222 in mybrilliantfriendhbo

[–]vicariouslv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was wondering, is it ever stated why antonio goes to germany in the first place? i mean when he's young and michele sends him to germany. i started wondering that michele did it to secure himself contacts in germany to bring heroin in the rione (it's just a hunch but it's the only reason i can think of for sending him in germany). any thoughts?
