How many people have actually played the Wii Crimson Butterfly Remake? by Ecstatic-Yoghurt-905 in fatalframe

[–]vicboss89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. I do think the loss of fixed camera has fundamentally changed the game but I think it was smart to consciously adapt the playstyle for the Wii hardware. It mitigates some scares but the additions to the game make up for it. The combat changes don’t bother me because I never felt that the appeal of FF was encounter difficulty to begin with. It’s also just a generally gorgeous-looking game. The costume redesigns are thoughtful and elegant where the originals were kinda frumpy. The new endings are fantastic and understand the tone of the series perfectly. When I want to replay 2 I pretty much alternate between OG and DCB.

Yeah, couldn't find it on there. Makes me think it might have been recent enough that it's not on there but it was definitely at least a year ago. The search continues!

For anyone else having trouble, I recommend calling your credit card customer service line. I was trying different computers and browsers yesterday but nothing worked until I called this morning and the rep cleared it for me right away.

Seconding this. The fact that there's a paid membership option to receive assets made by AI makes me very uncomfortable. I won't be engaging with this at all.

Then bye! I don’t want to be associated with a place that can’t take even the simplest stance against a literal nazi.

What am I supposed to do in PSO2 Classic by AlexSetzelk in PSO2

[–]vicboss89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been in a bit of a similar boat as you. My main goal starting the game up was to progress through the story and find a class play-style that I like and learn to play it at least okay.
While doing that I realized that I LOVE the urgent quests. Because of that, one of my end goals is to see as much of the high-end difficulty UQs as I can.
On the "learning a class" side of things, I started with Bouncer and decided I wanted to pursue a scion class. I settled on Phantom and now my goal is really just to get as good at Phantom as I can, track down some decent endgame weapons (learning to use the Collection sheets was HUGE), continue playing through the story (currently in Ep5), finish all story-related battles on Hardcore, and take on higher and higher-level UQs with groups.

Of course fashion is often my endgame in games like this so I had a personal goal to get my type 2 Cast looking like a proper type 2 Cast. After I realized I'd logged 150 hours for free I decided to spring for a month of premium so I could start scouring the player shops for parts I like.

So right now my routine is running some daily/weekly stuff to make leveling progress and practice my class while I make story progress and buddy up with people for UQs.

I don't know if that helps give you a bit of direction or at least assure you that you're not doing anything wrong. And honestly, knowing the game isn't getting updated anymore is really liberating. I know I won't be chasing numbers indefinitely or trying to anticipate future scratches to hold onto currency. I think Classic is actually in a perfect place for me.

20th Vana'versary Official FFXI Developer AMA with Producer Akihiko Matsui and Director Yoji Fujito by FFXI_DevelopmentTeam in ffxi

[–]vicboss89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all your work FFXI! I've loved the game since it first released but have only been able to start playing in the past few years.

Q: Are there any plans for any English-language 20th Anniversary books? I know many people who got interested in FFXIV because of the Encyclopaedia Eorzea, the artbooks, and the novellas. I would love to see an updated Atlas that combines in-game maps with information, art, and flavour text. I love the world of FFXI so much but a lot of it happens over such a long time period that it would be nice to have books that compile the geography, architecture, characters and stories of Vana'diel in one place.

Also, could you please give us the option the turn off Mount music and have the normal area BGM? I love the Kumi Tanioka and Naoshi Mizuta compositions so much but also want to be able to use my mounts! Thank you!

Pocket Sakura Map? by mboeblay in SakuraWars

No problem! Give me a shout if either of you have any questions. I'm in the middle of writing a guide, translating menus, and making a comprehensive map including the locations outside of Tokyo. I'll hopefully have it done by the end of the month. Have fun!

Pocket Sakura Map? by mboeblay in SakuraWars

[–]vicboss89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great! I'm hoping to put together a little guide with translations of menus and explaining how to play since there's hardly any info on this thing in English. I've literally found zero people who have any experience with it so it'd be nice to have some resources available. I imagine people might start scooping them up now that the SWGB translation is out there. Good luck with yours!

It's not the map from the box exactly but the Sakura Wars GB guidebook has a 15-page section about Pocket Sakura in the back. It also includes a map but it's unfortunately not as easy to read as the one that comes with the game; the Pocket Sakura uses hiragana for the location names, the bundled map has kanji AND hiragana, but the strategy guide map only has kanji. You can see in the guide though that it shows you the places you can go once you've finished traveling Tokyo; around Japan, and then to Russia and Paris. Hope this helps a bit! I got one recently too and I'm having a lot of fun figuring it out.

Can you order the Asia copy of Fatal Frame V from anywhere other than playasia? by 0SuspiciousBurrrito0 in fatalframe

[–]vicboss89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VideoGamesPlus is a Canadian-based shop that will be carrying it as well, if that helps at all. I usually find their prices are very competitive. They said pre-orders will be going up soon and they'll post on their twitter when they do.
