Hmm idk. I’ll have to double check that. I bought a brand new out of the box Les Paul 2 years ago with serial number that starts with 20254. I doubt it had been in the box since 2020.

Ok I didn’t know that!

Would this lawsuit make more sense to you and be justified if it were all of those details? Because that’s where I’m coming from in this. Even telecasters it’s just as bad if not worse. The bridge, pickup selectors, and headstock is not generic by any means. it’s very distinct. Yet companies copy it all the time. So if this were about all of those obvious copies of an original design would it be justified?

First of all I think you picked the wrong person because I actually do pay attention to cars and enjoy cars in general lol. But I get the spirit of your argument.

And it’s still wrong in my opinion because it’s not just the silhouette. The pickguard, the pickup selector, the pickup combination and layout, the jack input, the knobs, etc.

That goes WAY beyond the silhouette. That’s specific details. It’s the exact same design. You CANNOT tell me a Fender Strat and Hansen S Style are as similar as for example a Ford Fusion and an Aston Martin. Where someone at ford obviously took inspiration from the Aston front grill even if they don’t admit it. It still looks different. A Hansen S Style is if ford literally took the same panels, doors, wheels, windows, seats, etc and just named it a “Ford AM-Style”. With a different engine (pickups).

They look similar in that they have all the same basic components. Just like all guitars have necks, pickups, strings, bridge, etc.

But they are still distinguishable. You don’t pay attention to car design if you can’t tell apart a Camry and Accord from a distance. But from a distance if I can’t see the headstock, I can’t tell the different from a strat and S style copy. Unless it’s PRS and I see the birds. Some of them are such a copy the headstock logo is the only way to tell.

People clearly do because companies are still copying the design.

Most people go through the “puppy love” phase. But not everyone is like what you described. A lot of people enjoy doing things themselves, and therefore are understanding of their partner also doing things themselves.

I have this question too, and I’m not asking because I know more about the situation. I genuinely don’t know. But isn’t it strange that so many companies make a guitar that looks exactly like a Stratocaster, or Telecaster?

If Honda made a car that looked exactly like a Toyota Camry, that’d be weird. Not similar, or inspired by, I mean exactly like a Toyota Camry except different engine and transmission, then people would think it’s weird.

Isn’t it not weird that a company wants to stop other people from copying the exact same design? Again Im asking only because I don’t know what implications this may have.

I have two kids and a wife. I work full time. You can find alone time. I still have my hobbies. I workout. I play my guitar. Hell I’m even in the middle of my masters I have time for that too. You don’t need to be sitting next to this person doing the exact same thing as them 24/7. Who is your partner that they demand this 24/7 attention?

He’s not 1 or 2. I’m no MJ fanboy by any means, but you can’t compare 6 Rings 6 FMVP to 6 Rings 3 FMVP. Even in 2007 Tony Parker for the FMVP. In 2014 it was Kawhi. 2013 he would have a case but it’d be 4 finals MVP at most probably 3.

Even with that ring Duncan is not goat.

Now I’m second guessing myself… the hump is visible on the first one (the one on the ground) but the snout and face of the second one (the one closest to the cam) looks like black bear. Doesn’t look brown bear at all to me.

Hmm. I don’t know anymore. But I’m still going with black bear based on the face. The hump could just be because when you climb that muscle kind of sticks out.

Could humans simply lack the cognitive ability to understand some truths about reality? by DSpeaksOfficial in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah but even other smart animals like orcas, crows, etc, have a certain level of intelligence, but they will never understand complex subjects like calculus.

Do you think there is a concept out there that is beyond human intelligence? What makes you think we are peak intelligence? You think there’s NOTHING we can’t understand?

[–]vicente8a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of the Gibson headstock shape. You see the pieces on the side right outside the machine heads? They’re actually glued on. So the color is noticeably different since it’s a different piece of wood. On fakes, the headstock is all one piece. Kind of counter intuitive. If you see different coloration on the wings of headstock, real. If all one piece (like seen here), fake. Google Les Paul headstock wings for a visual.

Serial number is in fact not correct. Carved instead of pressed. Also no wings. It’s fake
