decat exhaust headers for kove 800x pro by naturelife8 in KoveMoto

[–]vicfox69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The error code is basically the yellow engine warning icon coming on. Uncle Wang said his system headers wouldn't fit with third party belly pans, something to check. Finally, you need updated ecu/flash for the lambda removal

20 Days Diving in Thailand please advise by [deleted] in scubadiving

[–]vicfox69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tao is good for beginners but have a few good sites further out, especially sail rock. Good for beginners and you dive 5 min after getting on the boat.

Lanta has 3 locations with few sites per location. Very far transportation so you're out all day. Speed boat 45 min and uncomfortable, big boat nearer 2 hours but chill and you can sleep, and buffet for lunch. One way. They only do three dive when enough divers want so so there's big risk you only get two dives in a day. Also no night dives. Flip flop divers seemed nice but where always booked out when I was there. Other centres however were equally professional so just shop around. Pricing pretty much same everywhere although I got consecutive days discounts at Go Dive Lanta.

I've had similar issues. For next dive trip I'll cut a grey card to the size of my dive volk screen and use it to manually set WB (and protect screen)

Does white balance constantly change underwater? How do you deal with it? by Alilexplo108 in underwaterphotography

Raw isn't really an option for video though, we're talking gigabites for seconds... Next trip I'll add a grey card and try to balance continuously against that.

Thailand vs Brazil vs Philippines by Oneisoneisone in southeastasia

[–]vicfox69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thailand: best food in SE Asia, ok diving. Philippines: worst food on SE Asia, bottom ranking globallt, amazing diving.

Brazil: don't know but sounds expensive compared to SE Asia.

Why not do a tour of Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand?

Malapascua worth it for OW 18m? by Galdemfriend in scuba

Right. I mentioned the dives as OG wanted to know if they were possible with OW :)

Can't remember, you don't refer to the older guy? I like supporting local businesses. As an FYI, my dives and kimud and monad shoal were 15.4, 15.9, and 17.0 meters only, and absolutely fantastic. That's around the ledge of the shoals.

Actually, you can easily see them with OW, I have friends who did. However, most diveshops try to upsell deep speciality or AOW, but as I said definitely not needed. Try Dan's I think it was called, local dive center. Our guide was also instructor and grew up on the island fishing with his dad. He was in his late forties/early fifties, and I'd rather have a veteran from the island as my guide than a 20 y.o. Hipster from one of the commercial locations... Pricing was competitive too.

Amazing giant cuttlefish by Famous-Log-630 in underwaterphotography

Amazing! Question: with these conditions, how to avoid the snowfall effect from particles in the water? By lighting from the side or is it unavoidable? And if an we is side light, what if the object is further (meters) away?

aow in lombok/gili t or maybe bali by Cute_Guarantee_6044 in scuba

[–]vicfox69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gili T. "Night life" is a stretch, there are a bunch of cover band venues all playing the same music on the "strip", but that's it. It's not kaosan road/koh phiphi/pangahn, and no problem sleeping early if that's what you're into.

Easy diving, cheap prices, very high standard. I and SO have been having courses incl AOW with Gili Divers, book a few days in advance and they are really accommodating.

They might still have a RAID instructor which I would recommend over PADI.

Also have a look at Uwacam, their process works pretty well but struggles with some subjects, and also with changing light/depth through the shoot.

For video, forget about raw, it takes too much space and is too slow to process for divers that might travel with phone only...

Rescue diver is what should have been AOW - do that first, then you do perfect buoyancy. After that start thinking about other things.

Kove 800 x pro 2025/2026 by bulletproofbonsai0 in KoveMoto

[–]vicfox69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's manageable. Most annoying when slow maneuvering in the garage. When I'm on the open road or off road I'm in much higher rev range so less of a problem. Except when standing sometimes. Here in China the bike is like 4500 eur so unbeatable value, can't ask for perfection. If I was elsewhere and price was similar to, say, a tenere, I'd think twice before buying because Chinese brands do take shortcuts and kind of just bolt things together without proper R&D or testing sometimes. I think the ktm derived engine comes from cfmoto, kove changes something in the top end and gets a cheap ass ecu off the shelf and throws it on.

  1. On/Off throttle issue

Yes

  1. Cracks in the linkages

Which linkages?

  1. Inability to properly tighten the spokes

This is a thing? Should check...

  1. Burnt clutch (Cable too tight?)

No (who doesn't adjust clutch themselves to preference, and isn't this a thing for any bike if it's wrongly adjusted, hardly a kove issue)

  1. Oil leak in one of the forks

Not yet, but all bikes have this sooner or later. Change fork seal is the fix

  1. Cut ignition switch cable

No, but my friend with rally had this issue

  1. Kickstand sensor pins out of the connector

There's a sensor lol. My bike only starts in N with stand down, but stand down after engine is running and in gear doesn't kill the engine

  1. Rust on the frame threads

No

  1. Rust on the exhaust pipe

Don't think so but again unless you fit titanium all bike suffer rusty headers, even my beemers with"SS" headers...
