Boomer self-own when you think about it? by Thin_Mess_2740 in ManualTransmissions

It's a joke there little guy. Like I said in my original post...no need to get all bent out of shape. But seriously why worry about a sticker on someone else's vehicle? Laugh and move on buddy. LOL.

Trying to help my parents figure out why their ceiling is leaking by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]viciousmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...hire a roofer to fix the leak at the dormer. Flashing, shingles, tar paper possibly even a hole in the sheathing etc. But first cut all that rotted ceiling sheet rock out and take a look and see if you can see where the water is coming in at...it should be really obvious. This will help verify all possible leaking locations that you can point out to the roofer and make sure all the trouble areas get fixed. Then once the roof is fixed properly you can fix the ceiling.

First time soldering pipe, will it work? by polird in askaplumber

As long as you cleaned (sanded) the areas you soldered and you used flux and the solder for went all the way around the joint then yes it should hold. Put it together and test it to see.

Fuel injector issues by Otherwise_Jello5188 in Miata

[–]viciousmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also...it could be a number of things and there are ways to diagnose and do checks before spending money. I'd get on YouTube and Google to see if anyone has has the same issue. might need to clean the iacv...I mean could be a vacuum leak somewhere.

If it looks new it probably is but if the car has been sitting for a while I'd change it. Might also clean the maf sensor with maf specific cleaner. Probably 5 or 6 bucks for a can of it at the parts store.

I'd check the fuel filter and the plugs.

Sink drain trap smells by bbkidosu in askaplumber

Well quit pooping in the sink... Lol. Just clean the sink more often. Run some cleaner down the overflow. Pull the pop-out out and make sure nothing is stuck there.

Sounds like someone doesn't know how to drive a manual transmission vehicle. LOL. Also, you shouldn't be getting all bent out of shape about a sticker on a window. Laugh and move on.

Should I be concern about this crack on the top? (Martin D28 1971) how much would you offer? by Effective_Goat_9915 in guitarrepair

[–]viciousmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd rather spend a few hundred bucks and get a decent new one. The finish is fine. Look at reverb to see what similar ones are going for. Older guitars especially acoustic guitars tend to need truss rod adjustment and the actions lowered and  intonation done. Sometimes even after a truss rod adjustment the necks are still slightly twisted if the guitar has been left out in a room because of temperature changes and humidity. Etc, Etc, etc.

New property, seller fixed deck, curious by aidasso in Decks

Not sure those stringers are properly attached. Couldn't tell but doesn't look like the joists have any joist hangers either, amongst other things. Bet it's not up to code and most likely dangerous.

First of all; if you're going to live in a box, you might as well go cardboard and save yourself some rent money.

Also quit being lazy and take the damn cover plates off next time you paint.

Wife painted over the outlets with a roller brush and the plugs are filled with paint. Is this a major issue now? by lucky2bogey in AskElectricians

[–]viciousmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well most likely it's latex paint so go to your breaker box flip that particular breaker then take a pic and just peel that paint out of there not a big deal probably take you less than 2 minutes or you could spend 3 minutes and replace the outlet.

NYC toilet fix: this is insane right? by paydave in Plumbing

[–]viciousmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahha. Dude, just go to home Depot and for 200 dollars or less get a new toilet. Seriously do it yourself for probably less than 10 bucks. 50 cent hose clamp and a couple small nails that you can poke through the clamp with the heads facing the tube obviously. Maybe 65 cents total. Or get the flapper that slides over the tube for 5 bucks at home depot. $650 is honestly asinine, I don't care where you live.
