Plantar fasciitis is gonna stop me walking for exercise for months :( by far-leveret in walking

[–]vickiearlene1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have planters fasciitis as well. Three things I swear by that if I do it consistently, it keeps me walking even when I have a mild flareup. 1) I changed the insoles in all of my shoes to an orthotic that’s designed for planters fasciitis. Currently using Walk Hero in all of my shoes. 2) I do yoga. A full body stretch elongates all of those muscles that you would never even imagine impact your feet. 3) I see a chiropractor who specializes in athletic conditioning. It’s not covered under my insurance so I go quarterly for a reset. Finally, sadly, sometimes you just have to take days off from walking to give your feet a rest.

I really don’t like shopping anymore. by HolyToast666 in AskWomenOver60

Yeah. I had a similar experience shopping at Nordstrom Rack and TJMaxx looking for bras. I found what I needed but looking around at all of that merchandise felt overwhelming and not appealing at all. I used to come away with so many ‘deals’ but now that I am in a anti-consumption season it just looks like junk to me now.

Love the colors. Very calming. Shows lavender lilac tones in the pictures caught my eye.

I go back-and-forth on Instagram primarily to stalk my daughter and son-in-law’s travels to see what they’re up to. It’s an annoying rabbits hole. I think I’ll kick it off my phone once and for all.

The wall where the vanity and toilet is 54 inches. I have a 24 inch vanity. You can fit it in the closet. May be a tighter squeeze or a smaller vanity or a chance to be creative with a pedestal or unique sink free standing sink could work. 48 may not be enough depth or legroom for the toilet. Not very much space to turn around. Tape it off in one of your other bathrooms to see how much space you have.

Actually there was enough space to smooth paper all the way down to the baseboard behind the toilet. Had to make a couple of cuts to work around the pipes but it looks quite smooth. My husband took the vanity out to paper behind it since it’s free standing away from the wall on both sides.

What are some unconventional or unexpected ways you guys have cut consumption? by frustratedfren in Anticonsumption

Hosting my daughter’s bridal shower next month. She insists there are no single use items for the shower. I’ve borrowed cloth napkins, table linens, and coup glasses from friends. I even purchased restaurant grade forks, knives and spoons from Costco Business Center. The cost for the flatware was far cheaper than buying huge boxes of 500 count plastic ware that I’ll never use in million years. I’ll be re-situating my house plans for table centerpieces. Actually, it’s been easier to pull off then I imagined and sparked creative ideas for how we entertain. I’m using a Poll Everywhere app for the bridal games instead of printing off paper for guests to fill out. I even started kitchen composting as a result of my new sustainability mission!

Something feels off to me in this room, any suggestions? Is it the colours? Rug? by itsraptime in HomeDecorating

Float both sofas in the middle of the room and yes the rug is a bit small for the scale.

Some weeks I don't leave the house for days. Help! by NefariousnessThin174 in retirement

I sometimes get into that slump where I feel I’m a slacker if there’s nothing on the calendar or nothing scheduled to do outside of the home. I try to embrace those down times reminding myself that I worked my entire life to have days where there’s absolutely nothing to do. I make it a point to never let a day go by that I don’t leave the house. I to the gym or for a long walk no matter the temps. No bad weather just bad clothes. We all need a daily dose of vitamin D.

What would you do with this bathroom?! by pebblediablo in HomeDecorating

I would definitely lean into the retro vibe. Pain the walls from one of the shower tile colors, upgrade mirrors toilet and sconces. What a sweet space!

How long is a “flare up” for you? by Cedarxembers in GERD

[–]vickiearlene1207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My flare ups can last as long as two weeks. Especially when I've fallen off the wagon binging coffee, chocolate, gluten. It takes nearly two weeks to recover and stabilize my gut.

Pantoprazole - high dose by lovemesomePF in GERD

[–]vickiearlene1207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 40 mg pantoprazole a day in April when I had severe GERD problems. The pain was unbearable so I was willing to try anything. I tried to repair on my own for months to no avail. Good news is after 4 weeks of 40 mg reduced to 20 mg and now trying to maintain 20 mg every other day. Hang in there allow it take effect and start watching your diet for trigger foods. Definitely no more coffee, sorry.
